FRER can F*** off

I'm 9dpo and tested this morning at 7AM with a home bargains test and BFN, I know they aren't very sensitive so I cracked open my FRER and 3 minutes later there it is, a nice little pink line, faint but clearly visible, so me being a POAS addict I then dipped a clearblue ultra early which after 3 minutes showed a somewhat barely visible squint and you miss it line. So I start getting all excited and told DP I need another FRER to confirm so off to the asda he went and picked one up along with asda own test. I still had my urine saved from this morning and by the time DP got back it had been sitting for nearly 3 and a half hours, I dipped both frer and asda and yep you guessed it, BFN 😭😭 this mornings must be first responses idea of a cruel joke 😩.

I don't understand wtf it's playing at, this mornings was the last one from a box of 2, I took the other one last month and not a snifter of a line, surely if one is dodgy then the other from the same box and batch would have been too. The line is even darker and more noticeable now time has passed. DEFINITELY A LINE AND DEFINITELY PINK. Im now off to sit in a dark corner and cry 😭

I’m so sorry OP, these tests are just awful for getting our hopes up. I had one a few months back with CB, was definitely a line, definitely colour on it…no pregnancy. I know people will say there must be hcg present to get a line, but then it appears tests are so randomly different and give lines when you’re not pregnant.

There's still a chance surely, try in a few more days. How many dpo are you?

What is the point of doing 5 tests with the same urine. Wait a few days and test again.

I read somewhere that leaving urine out for hours is no good-it oxidises or something and invalidates the result! Try again with FMU tomo or the day after x

Yeah maybe the HCG in your wee goes away if it’s not “fresh”? Don’t despair. X

Morning guys, thanks for your replies but I tested again this morning and BFN, safe to say I am no longer a customer of first response 😠 I am only 10dpo so I'm still holding out a little hope that I'll get that elusive bfp in the next couple of days x

Me again so I'm even more confused, with the above bfn I looked at it around the 3 min mark and nothing so shoved it back in the pack and left it to one side, I took it out after writing the above post and there's a faint line, maybe 10-12 minutes after dipping the test so slightly past the window to read which is 10 minutes but seeing as I put it back in its pack I've no idea at what point the line appeared, it's faint but visible and definitely pink. FML heads in a spin right now, I was massively convinced it was a bfn. Yesterday's asda test is still showing as a stark white negative and now this. TTC is such hard work 😔

Do you have/can you order some internet cheapie ones? The one step are pinkeye, which seems to be better than blue…might be worth trying those (or another retailer pink dye one). Keeping fx for you

You're only 10dpo? Stop testing. Wait until your missed period. You'll drive yourself crazy.

Wait 3 days, test again with an early test and you'll have an answer. 13dpo is still early, 10dpo is super super early

False positives are extremely rare, seriously, read the scientific literature. If you had pink lines, however faint and however pink, then HCG was detected. Unfortunately @mrsS21 and @Carrottopppp, about 50% of fertilised eggs do not complete implantation successfully and sometimes we wouldn’t even notice this and our period would come as usual. I am sorry. But the silver lining is that at least you know your egg and sperm have been able to meet. Fingers crossed for you both.

Frer are notorious for pre-set lines, albeit exceedingly light. You'll honestly drive yourself insane so wait until two days past a late period. Why put yourself through this mental torture?

Sorry I'm only just replying been working lates, soooooo im 11dpo this morning and it's official, IM PREGNANT 😊😊😊 3 different brands with different sensitivities all positive, over the moon right now, praying its a sticky baby as lines are still faint but more visible than yesterday's asda test 🤞🤞 ill start to see progression over the next couple of days x

Congrats! Just take a day at a time, especially the first 8 weeks, it can be such a rollercoaster. I'm 22+1 now and in agony with spd!
