Hello lovely ladies,
I'm just new onto this site and also just about to start IVF with PGS after 5 miscarriages.
A bit background 33 with PCOS (BMI 20) and septate uterus which has been respected.
5 first trimester miscarriages all with ovulation induction and tried progesterone pessaries for 2 of them.
Raised NK cells (at 26) but not convinced with taking steroids and test recurrent miscarriage tests are normal.

I have a few questions and would really be grateful for any experiences

A) My clinic have said they are going to give my Gonal-f for stims, is that a good protocol?

B) Does IVF with pgs improve preg outcome?

C) Has anyone had blood thinners or aspirin after ivf and had success for unexplained miscarriage?

D) Does the protocol / ivf procedure make a difference to an ongoing pregnancy? What I mean is that I know it can make a difference to a positive/ negative preg test but afterwards for an ongoing preg does the protocol or type of IVF matter?

Thank you all so much in advance xx

I'm not very well placed to answer your questions. I had blood thinners with IVF twice and both times worked (I've no history of miscarriage or relevant medical conditions, but the clinic just did it as standard). TBH I was very cynical and thought it was the clinic adding things on, but after you've paid 10k you don't want to not pay a few hundred pounds more in case that makes all the difference....I told a midwife this a few days after DD1 was born and she disagreed and thought it was a really good idea. No idea why.
Anyway, there are specific sections of mumsnet for IVF and similar, and you may find your thread gets more traction if you put it in the "right" section, where hopefully people will know more about the answers than I do.
Good luck with it all xx

Hi Babydust 12,

I've not had Gonal-f for stims, although have tried almost all others over 7 ICSI cycles & have to say, the only cycle that resulted in zero embryos was when I did a short protocol using Metformin & Fyremadel.
So, I wouldn't have a short protocol again.
PGS doesn't improve the likelihood of a pregnancy as it's down to whether you're producing euploid embryos or not. PGS only tests which ones are chromosomally normal and if you transfer one that is, that would supposedly increase your chance of pregnancy to approx 60% (dependant on your age of course).
I've taken Clexane on one cycle but not other blood thinners or aspirin. That cycle was a fail anyway.
You'd have to check the stats but from what I've read, there's a slightly higher chance of miscarriage with an IVF pregnancy.
I've had 7 cycles. One chemical pregnancy on 6th cycle. Still hoping for the best. I'd consider looking in to steroids and intralipids if your NK cell level is elevated.

Wishing you lots of luck x
