Morning all,

I'm due AF tomorrow and felt differently about this month and couldn't wait to test. Waited until my partner went out (he would tell me not to get my hopes up) so it's my second pee of the day. This is a Superdrug early detection test and I can see a line. Am I being crazy or do you see it too?

Are these tests accurate or have people had bad experience with them? I'll pop out today and get some more tests - which would be most reliable and I'll try again tomorrow if AF doesn't happen before then? Just feeling confused at the moment and can't believe it to be honest, scared to believe it's true!

I've been getting stomach ache like I'm coming on so feels odd to me. We have been TTC for over a year and a half plus I'm 38 and this would be my first. Never had a line appear before so you can see why I'm worried to get my hopes up.

Honestly appreciated if these are terrible unreliable tests. There in advance for any responses, don't really have anyone else I can speak to about this at this stage.

That a definite positive! Congratulations Grin
Thank you so much, I'm just worried it's a dodgy test or something. I've found some more tests but guess it's better to wait until tomorrow for a more concentrated pee sample? Do you know if these Superdrug ones are reliable? Might go and get one of the clear blue ones that tell you how far along you are (annoyingly I have one somewhere but no idea where I've put it Confused)

That’s a clear positive OP :) congratulations

DawnWW · 23/10/2021 10:42

Can you get false positives? I'm too scared to believe this. Thanks for the congrats 🥳

Lol at line eyes for a very very clear positive.

Congratulations.

GiantCheeseMonster · 23/10/2021 10:48

False positives - no. You can get evaporation lines but they are usually thinner or to one side. They’re also more common on blue dye tests. That looks positive to me. You can also have a chemical pregnancy, in which case you typically get a positive but then get your period a few days later. But no way of knowing for now so no point worrying - so today, you are pregnant. If in doubt, I always found First Response to be sensitive and reliable, try one of those.

RavenclawsRoar · 23/10/2021 11:03

I think these tests are fine! I used them with dc1. You will get a stronger line with an frer if you want to confirm, or just wait a couple of days. Congratulations!

thesunwillout · 23/10/2021 11:09

I think you've got your positive there op 😊

Thank you for the honesty and advice. There is a possibility I had a chemical in February but I had a lot of symptoms like really sore boobs etc but no positive tests. Ended up in A&E with extreme bleeding at 2 weeks late so no idea what that was. Just got to hope for the best with this.

Thanks again, I'll try a first response early one

Definitely a positive @DawnWW evap lines usually don't have colour to them and usually appear outside of the given time-frame. This line has colour (evaps are more common in blue dye tests) and seems pretty strong. So fingers crossed! xx

danni0509 · 23/10/2021 11:31

Yep deffo positive!! Clear as day Smile

ChorizoJacketPotato · 23/10/2021 11:34

Definitely positive. I got my first positive on one of those too. Congratulations x

Erinrose82 · 23/10/2021 11:41

Absolutely positive! SmileSmile

Erinrose82 · 23/10/2021 11:41

Oh and congratulations! 🎉

maternitycoat · 23/10/2021 11:59

Yes!!! A definite line

Wait 2-3 days and do another

My first test was like this. Husband refused to believe it and then it got darker over time

Thetrainisinthestation · 23/10/2021 12:03

Congratulations 🥳

Milkbottlelegs · 23/10/2021 12:05

For the first time ever on one of these threads I can confirm that is most definitely a line!

DawnWW · 23/10/2021 12:06

I have just done a second and it's even clearer (from a different box) I was just too scared to believe it so thanks for all your confirmations.

This was the second test, just hope it stays 🤞🏼

I'll get a how many weeks rest later, are these best done tomorrow morning or does it not matter? Thanks again everyone

Congratulations! You are pregnant! With the digital ones they say to use FMU to make the dating more reliable.

squee123 · 23/10/2021 12:43

Please don't get one of the Clearblue weeks ones. They're notoriously unreliable and cause a lot of unnecessary heartache when they don't show the weeks you're expecting. Lots of my friends have been convinced they were miscarrying because the test wasn't moving through the weeks but had perfectly healthy pregnancies.

Your best bet is First Response Early Response

Crazycatlady202020 · 23/10/2021 12:46

Congratulations x

IsabelHerna · 24/10/2021 22:40

That's a sure positive! Congratulations!!

DawnWW · 26/10/2021 21:05

Hi guys, I did do a clear blue and got 2-3 weeks which would be right. Thank you for all your confirmations 😊 still trying to be chilled and wait for the 12 week scan just in case something goes wrong, but for now, things are good 😊
