Hi everyone - completely new to these boards. Only been TTC for a month, been on the pill for 20 odd years, came off it beginning of September but haven’t really had proper cycles yet, maybe one period for about 3 days and then another one about 2 weeks later for 2 days 😂

Have read on here about the ovulation sticks, so bought some randomly last week and tried one on monday this week and think it showed that I was ovulating. Understand from on here therefore today is far too early to show anything but I’m all excited and keep randomly peeing on sticks just because it’s so new and exiting 😂

Just peed and this happened. It wasn’t my first wee of the day. I’m not sure what it is. Should I wait a few more days and then text again? Keep hearing about chemical pregnancies (?) and evaporation lines (?) or was my ovulation test just wrong and I’m completely over thinking this?

I think I need to test again in a few days don’t I Grin

Is this a pregnancy test or ovulation?

romdowa · 23/10/2021 07:32

If that's a pregnancy test then it's positive!

Harlequin1088 · 23/10/2021 07:33

That's a positive pregnancy test right there.

HotToddyColdSauvignon · 23/10/2021 08:01

Holy mackerel.

It’s a pregnancy test. But…. I can’t be 😱

I mean… oh my god. Oh my god. I need to get a digital one Grin

Yeah, you're pregnant! If that was an evap line it wouldn't be so pink. They're actually more accurate than digital I've found. Congrats!!

CircleofWillis · 23/10/2021 08:23

It's a baby! That's what that is!

HotToddyColdSauvignon · 23/10/2021 08:26

Gulp.

Sounds really stupid - haven’t actually got this far yet on my Googling as was expecting this to take months and months - errrr, what do I do next??!

Wait a couple of weeks to check? Aaaah. Mind is just racing

If you did an ovulation test before and it said you were ovulating , they can also detect pregnancy which is maybe why it was positive! That is how I suspected I was pregnant!

Pregnancy test of defo positive , congratulations!

CPDubs · 23/10/2021 10:51

Definitely pregnant. You need to call drs in the next week or two to find out what your local area is doing. You’ll have a booking in appointment with a local midwife anywhere between 7-9 weeks who will then refer you for a scan. It’ll be hard to identify when you ovulated with uneven bleeds. I’d maybe do a weeks indicator which will help you get a better idea although they’re not that accurate. Congratulations Grin

HotToddyColdSauvignon · 23/10/2021 12:20

Thank you very much everyone Grin

Congrats! I'd get digital with the week indicator now if I were you! Exciting.

Squiff70 · 23/10/2021 13:36

@HotToddyColdSauvignon haha, that's positive alright. Congratulations!

PS. When I did a test about 10 DPO three years ago I got a very strong, clear line. Turned out to be twins! I'd just come off the pill too, the previous month.

Wishing you a very happy and healthy pregnancy. Enjoy this time and let it sink in!

“Randomly peeing on sticks” is my fave phrase Grin

Congratulations, get yourself a digital and report back!

2-3 weeks apparently according to clear blue! Though there’s a lot of wording on there saying 2-3 weeks means 4-5 in doctor timelines, which I’m not sure what that means 😂
  • stupid question - I presume this means it’s actually implanted now and not just one of these chemical pregnancies I’ve read about?

PeanuttyButter · 23/10/2021 20:48

A chemical pregnancy is one that lasts less than 5 weeks.

2-3 on a digital means 2-3 weeks since conception which usually means 4-5 weeks based on last menstrual period. It's a nice strong line. Congratulations x

HotToddyColdSauvignon · 23/10/2021 20:50

Thank you peanutty, that’s really helpful (and a relief to know!)

Passthecake30 · 23/10/2021 23:32

4-5 weeks pregnant, congratulations!

CPDubs · 24/10/2021 17:01

Yes means 4-5 weeks pregnant but not that accurate necessarily. With my first it didn’t change to 3+ (Meaning 5 weeks preggo) until I was 7 weeks pregnant! If you’re lucky they may let you go for an earlier scan to get a rough idea of dates (you may have to push for one!)

HotToddyColdSauvignon · 24/10/2021 19:02

Thanks everyone very much for all your help! Guess am calling the gp tomorrow! Grin
