Line eyes / Two FRERs have different results!

I’m only 8dpo which is I know is very early indeed, I don’t really know why I took these so soon 😣

I have just done the top one and there is, to me, a very thin line, just about pink in real life, slightly more pronounced at the top of the line. The attached invert is of that test.

I then realised I had a FRER in my drawer which - bizarrely - has an expiry date of today! (I must have been sold an old batch on Amazon.) So I decided to use that up and that is the bottom picture. I can’t see a line.

Would absolutely love some thoughts while I make a brew. Thank you Smile

I see something on the top test but it looks quite grey so could be an indent line. I'd test again tomorrow morning if I were you!

I really wish I could capture the colour of the line that I see, in the photos!

I think that MN should employ someone from First Response to analyse all our photos Grin

I would be rather pleased about the top test at 8dpo. You're right, it's incredibly early but the VFL reflects that. I'd say be cautiously excited 😃

Farfaraway1 · 22/10/2021 09:07

I see a very faint line on the top one but not on the bottom one. Unfortunately I’ve had terrible indents on FRER so I don’t trust them very much anymore, at least not in the early days. This is one of my indents.. Have you got another you can test again in a couple of days? I have everything crossed for you x

That is shocking @Farfaraway1! Was there any colour to it in real life?

I wonder how being on the day of expiry can affect a test. Is it more likely to show a false negative or a false positive?

I have ordered four more to be delivered today @WutheringMights, god bless Amazon Prime 😆

I will hold off doing another test until tomorrow morning though!

@Decaffe - god bless Amazon Prime indeed! Report back tomorrow after doing a test with FMU. Lots of luck!

I've had lines like that top one or slightly darker on 3 occasions. I asked on another thread and someone else said she had a line the same and actually got a blood test at the doctor. Apparently her HCg was 7, so the frer was just picking up a really low reading. At 8dpo it could just be picking up a really early result and maybe you held your pee longer on the top than the bottom.

I would take this result as a maybe and test again as you said. I'm 9dpo and saving my frer for 11/12dpo

Decaffe · 22/10/2021 12:23

How soon can you get a blood test from your GP, do you know? I thought you told them you were pregnant then you go to a scan at 13 weeks?

I admire your patience @CycleGirl20 Smile

@Decaffe thanks. Although I should have added that I've been testing every morning since 6dpo with cheapies!

The woman who replied to my post was doing IVF so the clinic tested her. Not sure when a GP might be willing to test but you could always ask

CagneyNYPD1 · 22/10/2021 12:31

At first glance, I couldn't see anything. But when I zoomed in, yes the faintest of a second line. Good luck.

Decaffe · 23/10/2021 11:54

This morning’s FRER at 9dpo showed the faintest of lines but there was no colour to it, so in all likelihood it was just the indentation line.

My resting heart rate has dropped from 66 yesterday to 62 today so it is likely it was the second chemical in a row, as false positives are very rare (according to the hours of research I did yesterday!).

Will chase up the fertility referral the GP put in a few weeks ago next week. I’ve looked at my NHS app and it says no referrals are in place so I’m concerned the surgery hasn’t processed it yet.

Fake positives are very rare @Decaffe. Unfortunately, it does seem to be pointing to a chemical. I am so sorry x
