Could I be pregnant?

Hi,

Just wondering what others opinions on my situation is at the moment. Myself and my husband decided last month to try for another baby. I think I could possibly be pregnant however my period was due 5 days ago and has so far been a no show, I’ve had the pains to go with it but nothing from AF. I can sometimes be a little late here and there but never 5 days late, I’ve taken so many pregnancy tests and all came back negative. But I’m wondering if maybe I’ve ovulated later than my app has assumed I would and now I’m kind of stuck in limbo with either my period or pregnancy. I’d love to be pregnant but if I’m not I just want AF to arrive and put me out my misery. Any advice?

Hi there! I'm currently the same my periods are always a few days difference but nothing like this! I'm 5 days late CD 41 usually it's 36 give or take a day or two. Earlier in the month I had SO many symptoms which convinced me I was pregnant but 6 negative tests later and no AF I honestly don't get it! I'd love to be pregnant but if I'm not I just want to start a new cycle already. Been trying for 5 months for baby #3 and I'm hopelessly clinging to any little bit of hope I have left as I've had a really down past few weeks!

If it's an app that doesn't take into account basal temp then really it has no idea when you ovulated. So it could just be delayed or absent ovulation which as a one off is normal. Try another test in a week

Hi everyone! Little update. I came on what I thought was my period on 22/10/21 and had what I assumed to be my normal 5 day period. Today is my first day off my period, felt a little bit off earlier so decided to take a chance thinking that it wouldn’t be positive. Low and behold I’m pregnant. But I’m really confused if it was a period, really heavy implantation bleeding (as far as I’m aware that’s minimal) or have I had a miscarriage? Very confused but I’ve done 5 tests and all are positive so I know I am. Anyone have any ideas at all? @Becca92xo hope you get your BFP soon xx

Not to scare you but this happened to me and it was an ectopic pregnancy. I would explain to your gp and ask for bloods or to be referred to early pregnancy unit. Hope all works out ok, bleeding can be common in early pregnancy, but I had what I thought was a normal period then strong posited pregnancy tests with lines getting darker.

@wavecatcher I thought the same. I tested positive very late, barely visible line the day AF was 1 day overdue and then bleeding and spotting almost every day. But I truly hope it's not that @Erby21- I wish you all the best of luck!

Hi @Erby21 Just to reassure you, with my April 2019 baby I had very similar. I thought I’d started my period but then it stopped quicker than normal so I took a test and it was positive. It was a very healthy, straight forward pregnancy 😊

@Erby21 Also, just wondering how long between your expected period start date and getting your BFP? I’m currently 3 days late, lots of symptoms. Had a very faint line but possibly evap line and now showing negative on different brand test 🙈

Thanks everyone. I’m going to call the docs tomorrow. Not in any pain, so don’t suspect it to be anything sinister, but I will explain all this tomorrow. My “period” started 22/10/21 and I was about to take a test but as I thought it was my period so I didn’t bother. I took the test last night and was clear as anything (all 7 of them!) I was 5 days late (wel what I assume to be 5 days, my period can be a little off sometime) my “period” I would say seemed fairly normal, less painful and stopped pretty much after 4 days (I think). I’m very cautious of the fact that none of it sounds normal so I will be keeping a close eye and I will be speaking to the docs tomorrow x

Hello, I've been spotting for 3 weeks now. On the depo shot, took it Aug. I've taken several pregnancy test and all negative. Not sure what to do now. I pee a lot, I smell some odors that make me want to vomit. Cravings, no pain what so ever. Not sure what's going on

Hi all, little update.

I spoke to the docs and due to the bleed I had (the bleed I thought was a period) they aren’t willing to see me or refer me to EPU until I’m around 6 weeks. I woke up this morning and I’ve had light spotting throughout the day (pink/brown) some slight pains but this is my fourth pregnancy and I fed this is the same pain I had at the beginning with my others. I was also told to keep doing tests just incase it was a chemical and if it was the tests should begin to fade soon, however this is not the case still strong positives. So until I’m told otherwise I’m taking it as I am pregnant and will just be seeing how I get on for the time being until the docs are willing to see me.

How dark are the BFP tests you've been getting? Or have you done a clearblue digital with weeks?

Quite dark, don’t have to squint my eyes or tilt test to see it’s clear as day. Done a digital but not the one with weeks sadly as I picked up the wrong one. All show pregnant

UPDATE!

Hi everyone, bad news think it’s a chemical pregnancy (well I know it is) obviously I had what I thought was my period was 4/5 days long then after period I had my first positive (didnt get them before period- all negative despite being 5 days late). Spoke to the docs they told me to keep doing tests to keep an eye on the line progression. After 4 days the line started getting fainter and now this morning it was pretty hard to see the line at all. So I’ve most certainly had a chemical pregnancy sadly. Still feel sick from time to time and getting some light cramps (like I usually do in early pregnancy but nothing worrying) so yeah sadly it wasn’t meant to be this month.
