How important is it to take bbt at the same time every day?

I am new to bbt, just bought a fermometer and want to start charting. My understanding is that it is the best to take the temp at the same time every day. I don't usually wake up at the same time every day, few days a week I might need to wake up earlier than the rest of the days. Would it be OK if I for example temp at 6:30am every day, but most of the days I go back to sleep after I measure? Or is it better if I temp when I naturally need to wake but but some days it will be about an hour later than other days?

When I used to temp I had an alarm set for 6.30am everyday then if I didn't need to get up yet I'd go back to sleep. I think a little bit of variation is ok but best to take at the same time as long as it's as soon as to wake up, even before to speak or sit up, etc

I sometimes wake up for a wee in the night, if I know I won't get another big block of sleep (ie wake up at 5am for a wee but alarm goes off at 7) I'll take it before I get up. I think I'm about 1hr out other side mostly but this is the first month I have been doing my btt and it has been all over the place.

I find for myself it's really important to take it at the same time each day, give or take half an hour... I sometimes would wake up at 5 and take it just to see, then when I would take it around 7 (my usual time for testing) it could have increased by a whole 0.10/0.15, which after ov could make quite a difference to your charting results. Of course everyone is different but that's just my experience😊
