Can alcohol affect implantation?

Hi everyone,
I'm going to a wedding on Friday and I'll be approx 7dpo. I'm not a big drinker anyway, but I'd usually have some champagne/a few glasses of wine at a wedding.

I'm early in TTC so chance of pregnancy is probably slim, but obviously unknown at this point! The last thing I want to do is anything that will affect implantation. Thoughts?! What would you all do?

Thanks!

@AmyD54321 Everyone will have their own opinion on this but I follow drink until its pink (positive test) which there was a thread about on here however, I would never go beyond one glass of something and not v often in the 2WW. x

@AmyD54321 - I think a glass or two is ok at this stage, especially with food etc, and I think it’s not sustainable to put your life on hold for 2 weeks every month (in my opinion anyway). 😊 But I probably wouldn’t go much further than that in terms of drinking.

I asked my Doctor this as with my DS I'd been drinking during the tww, quite a lot on one particular night. She told me it is fine as until the placenta kicks in the alcohol doesn't transfer and won't change the outcome. however a high amount of alcohol in general can affect chances when ttc

I read some study which reckoned drinking alcohol, caffeine and even fizzy drinks could reduce chance of implantation by as much as 25% but those studies tend to use very small sample sizes

Alcohol can put extra stress on your system requiring extra blood etc to process it..and so does implantation and pregnancy! Really just depends on how well your body can cope. I drank during tww when trying for my first and conceived in month 2 BUT I've not drank during ttw with while trying for my second as my body is a bit older and more tired!
