Hi everyone,
Don't know whether I am clutching at straws but looking for any 12 months plus success stories.
We are trying for baby number 1 and I've just come on my period so that's officially 12 failed cycles. I am heartbroken and seem to be surrounded by other people having success.
I have had some basic day 3 bloods and have been told oestrogen, FSH and LH all good. Thyroid function is fine and AMH is good especially for my age (30). OH sperm analysis is fine and last year I had a scan showing no issues with ovaries just a bicornuate uterus which does not affect conception. I am on a range of vitamins including B6, D, B12 (injections at my GP), C, folic acid and E. My cycles are regular at 26-29 days although I've started spotting a few days before period so I'm wondering about progesterone (being tested this month if I can get an appointment on the right day). I generally get a few days of EWCM and a positive OPK on day 13-15, we aim to DTD every other day from day 9 ish and aim to increase that over the peak period. We have also tried both conceive plus and preseed lube. I genuinely don't think we can do anymore but not even a hint of BFP :-( just looking for someone to tell me it does happen for some after a year really I suppose!

@tryingforbabyh can't tell you it happens but wanted to say we're in EXACTLY the same position. We had tests that all came back good for us both except I've got a septate uterus. Gynaecologist said it shouldn't affect conception, just higher risk of miscarriage - but I've never even got that far! I take it they don't want to operate on your uterus? I'm awaiting a specialist appointment to confirm if they want to operate or not.

We're also trying pre-seed for the first time this month, but I'm not feeling hopeful.

So nice to hear someone in the same boat - it's so hard isn't it!! They are happy leaving my uterus alone but if I ever get that BFP I'll be high risk and consultant lead...getting to that stage seems to be a dream at the moment though :-(

@tryingforbabyh yes I'm not sure I believe that it doesn't affect fertility! If everything else is fine with both of us, it seems to me that that's what's probably causing the issue?!

That's the thing isn't it - if you did get pregnant naturally you'd be petrified for 9 months! So part of me wants the op to correct it before I get pregnant so I'm not high risk and don't have that weight on my shoulders for 9 months

Sorry I also can't provide a success story, but looking forward to any that people share! I've been trying for 22 months now, with 1 chemical pregnancy at about 15 months in. My cycle is regular, blood tests were normal and getting husband's SA and an ultrasound for me soon. The idea of actually getting to be pregnant now just feels like a dream...

It took my sister 18 months to conceive her first 15 months for second and nearly 3 years for her third! The "normal" time to conceive is up to 18 months! But I know the feeling of everyone else seeming to click there fingers but remember nobody posts their announcement and states how many months they tried for.

SlothMamaToBe · 20/10/2021 19:31

We’ve been trying around 20 months , all tests come back normal. Both had one child each from previous relationships. No success story I’m afraid. Not had a single BFP. I’m here to read some success stories from others as hope went a long time ago 😔. Wishing you lots of luck.

SlothMamaToBe · 22/10/2021 19:39

I can’t quite believe it but this happened today 😭😭😭

Thank you so much! Doesn’t seem real , 20 months trying. So happy to be able to share a positive story on here!

Thank you @tryingforbabyh literally 2 days ago I posted that I’d lost hope!
I had a HSG last month so I’m wondering if that’s helped.
Wishing everyone so much luck 🍀!!

Everyone is different, it took 18 months with my first age 32. We both had all the standard fertility tests and everything was normal. Took 12 months for our second, now in my late 30s. Some couples take longer than others, I am a firm believer that it will happen when it's meant too.
It will happen for you too, good luck 😬
