Ovulation confusion

I’m really confused about ovulation timing.

Yesterday had EWCM followed by ovulation pains in the night, tested on OPK this morning and test was positive, tested again this eve and OPK was negative. Will I have already ovulated or could it still be due even though OPK is now negative? Did the BD yesterday afternoon, about 12 hours before ovulation pains and 18 hours before positive OPK. Was that the right time or should we have tried today? So confused 🤔

Relax, you're covered. It's likely you ovulated soon after the positive OPK.

On average you will ovulate 24 hours after your LH surge, and then the egg will live for another 12-36 hours after that.

Early night tonight? Wink

So if an OPK is negative after a previous positive you’ve already ovulated?

It’s on its way! If you had your LH surge this morning then you will be ovulating approximately 24 hours after that.

Ok, so probably haven’t ovulated yet but imminent? Best to DTD tonight then??

Sorry OP, I wasn't technically right with my reply but you are still covered, most likely. Your surge is picked up on the OPKs and a previous poster is correct, you likely ovulated between 12-36 hours AFTER that. It's actually best not to DTD every day as it can reduce sperm quality but if you're both up for a bit of fun tonight it certainly wouldn't be a bad thing!
