HCG almost 3000 but nothing seen on scans?

I am currently 6 weeks 3 days following an IVF cycle. I had a scan at exactly 6 weeks when my hcg was 2061 (it’s been doubling perfectly every 48 hours) and nothing could be seen in my uterus or tubes, or anywhere. I then had a private scan the following day and she thought she possibly saw a yolk sac within my ovary (see pic), but when I sent this to my IVF doc he thought it was more likely a Luteal body left over from the IVF. I went to EPU yesterday for a third scan and asked for a consultant. She also did not think this thing in my ovary was a yolk sac as it didn’t look strong enough. However they still can’t see any evidence of a pregnancy in my uterus or tubes. Yesterday my hcg was 2822 so only an increase of 40% this time. I asked if it could be a pregnancy of unknown location but the consultant said she wouldn’t expect the hcg to have been doubling at all if that was the case. I am stuck in limbo and so confused. I have to go back again tomorrow for more bloods and scan, and they said it’s hcg is still rising they may do a laparoscopy. Has this happened to anyone else? And if so what was the outcome?

I have no pain anywhere and no bleeding.

Oh OP how difficult for you!
Would or be worth referring back to the private scanner? I appreciate the other doctors didn't agree with the photo but maybe the sonographer saw something else during the scan?
Keeping absolutely everything crossed for you!
