IVF post embryo transfer tips

Hi everyone, I have my embryo transfer on Wednesday, this is our first round. I was wondering, for anyone who has been through this, what did you do on the day after the transfer? I’ve read so many things, from lying down all day (some research says this isn’t the best as you need the blood to circulate), eating McDonald’s chips and pineapple cores. You can literally go mad with all the advice! X

Just try to relax 🙂 Have a lovely day doing things you enjoy and avoid reading too much into old wives tales about pineapples and McDonald's 😅

Try relax I know it's hard. I went to burger King as that was down the road from my clinic and I was starving! I then went home and took it easy and relaxed for the rest of the day. You'll be fine good luck x

Thank you both for the advice! Were your rounds successful if you don’t mind me asking? X

Yes! First round and successful! 🥳
If you feel unable to relax I can suggest Mindful IVF app, it really helped me. Fingers crossed for you 🤞🤗

Miracle29 · 11/10/2021 22:03

Yes first round for me too. Sending you lots of baby dust 🤞

Frenchie86 · 11/10/2021 22:12

Congratulations to you both! Thank you for your advice and kind wishes. Here’s hoping mine is as successful as yours x

I’ve had three rounds; the two that worked were the ones where I didn’t have to run around coaching sport the next day.
Just take it easy.

I had recorded on sky box (before Netflix etc) lots of comedy programmes. I thought anything that released happy & relaxing hormones might help a tiny little bit. Of course this is totally unscientific but I enjoyed it

Wishing you the best of luck Frenchie

I am waiting to be referred for IVF so not at this stage yet but some of the groups I’m in mention going for a gentle walk to help blood flow. I would probably do that but nothing too strenuous.

Thanks for all the tips everyone! We had booked tickets to go and see the new Bond movie at our local cinema (10 minute walk) and now wondering if that’s too risky - I know I’m paranoid 😂 - but thought the distraction might be nice!

@frenchie86 I recommend the film its brilliant!! I'm not normally a bond fan but I was impressed and will definitely take your mind off things

Frenchie86 · 12/10/2021 10:23

Thanks @Miracle29 have been really looking forward to it!
