Hello! Hope this is the right place to ask about this....
Been trying for about 5 to 6 months now and because of having PCOS and some underlying issues DH has, we decided to just go with the flow and see what happened.
Typically for me that way of thinking didn't last long and last month started stressing about why it hadn't happened for us yet. Started using OPKs and haven't had a positive result from one yet.

I rung the GP this morning to possibly ask for some advice about it and if there was bloodwork to see if I was ovulating etc. I was quite surprised when she said she will refer me to a fertility specialist even though its only been about 6 months.

It all felt very quick and wasn't expecting it. While she said there are long waiting times anyway, I was wondering if anyone had any advice of what to expect and what happened for them? Any success stories welcome!

Hi there! You're so lucky to have a GP that helps you! Unfortunately, that's quite rare. There are going to be a lot of waiting times, long and short ones, throughout this journey, so brace yourself and take advantage of them! You can read up books, listen to podcasts and prepare questions for the nurses and doctors. It's very often that we don't remember to ask something, especially when we're stressed.

Try to remain as calm as possible, and I would suggest planning a few nice evenings or something for the next months, so you have things to look forward to and to take your mind away from fertility things. For example, I've booked theatre and movie tickets until Christmas time, and planned a spa day for October, a "museum day" for November and a "holiday fun day" in Dec, to be my little treats along the way.

Welcome, I wish you all the best, and let me know if I can offer some help or support :)
