Advice after positive test/short cycle

Hi guys, I'm hoping for some advice

I'm an anxious person and this is being made worse by a 14 week loss in August which has increased my anxiety/overthinking about all this

I got my period back following this loss and then we began ttc again. I believe I ovulated somewhere between cd8-10, and I generally have shorter cycles around 25 days.

I took a FRER pregnancy test yesterday, cd18 and got a positive. I was firstly worried about leftover hcg causing this however had been getting negatives on cheap tests for a few weeks, so am feeling anxious about this and whether to get my hopes up.

I'm also really confused because if this is a new pregnancy and the miracle happens that baby sticks, it would mean I am 2 weeks 4 days pregnant today based on my period starting September 14th. My period is due October 7th. How is it even possible to get a positive this early?

I am absolutely terrified of a chemical pregnancy too. I think with my prior loss, I am in a panic spiral and hoping someone sensible can put my mind at ease

I would also like to upload a photo of my test yesterday but there doesn't seem to be an option for it

You are 8-10 DPO - perfectly possible to get a positive FRER that early. Good luck xx

Seconding @Hopefulhedgehog, you can get positives that early BUT if you only tested negative on cheapies post-MC then you might still have been showing positive with residual HCG on an FRER because they're much more sensitive.

The good news is that if you test today / tomorrow with another FRER and the line is darker then you are definitely pregnant again.

(For context, I also mc in August at c.13 weeks, got negative on less sensitive tests 2 weeks later but still faint positives on FRER for at least a week or two after that. Just finishing my first period so please update us, @Flossyrex - I'd love for you to get your BFP to give me hope for this cycle!)

I'm so sorry for your loss. That's been my worry too about the frer sensitivity, however I'm getting positives now on the same cheap tests that were negative before so have everything crossed!

Got some line progression today on the Frer too after 48 hours (I keep trying to post a pic but it won't let me).

Got everything crossed for you too, I wasn't sure what my body would be doing after my first period and am very shocked, scared and happy!

@Flossyrex, amazing news!! Obviously we both know nothing's certain but hooray for your body. That sounds like some BFPs to me!

If you've only just joined Mumsnet then I think you need to wait 48 hours to post photos... but it should work now. Do post if you manage to get it to work, I'd love to see. Huge congrats ❤
