IVF and AMH levels

I’m new to mumsnet and looking for advice, I’m 36, and starting IVF soon. Consultant wanted to test my AMH as the ultrasound scan showed a lower egg count than what she was hoping to see for someone my age. AMH came back as 11.1 pmol/L which is slightly lower than normal for my age . She said that she expects a satisfactory egg yield ,but I’m anxious about my chances of conceiving. Anyone else been in a similar situation? Hoping to hear some success stories ! Smile

Have you had a scan to look at your AFC count? I'm 38 and have low amh (5) and an AFC of 8. I did mild ivf earlier in the year and only really had 2/3 follicles doing much. They collected 7 eggs and 3 fertilised and made 3 top quality blastocysts.

Try not to worry too much. There is an infertility board where lots of us are at various stages of ivf so hopefully you can get some good experiences.

I had a chemical pregnancy after my fresh cycle, just preparing for a FET.

@VenusStarr thank you, yes she did a scan and told me she could see 6 on one ovary and 4 on the other, so I’m trying to be positive! Good luck with your journey x
