Can a normal pregnancy test detect pregnancy 2 days before your period is due or would only the early detection tests work?

Please can someone confirm

Entirely depends on the test, if a test says 99% accurate from the day of your missed period, then it might be 80% accurate 2 days before. But each test is different.

Short answer is if it's positive then you're pregnant, if it's negative then you might be so try again in a couple of days.

Hi I took a pregnancy test this morning and was positive. Later in the afternoon I started bleeding (more than spotting) and took another test and positive line was darker than the morning! So confused.

Spotting can be completely normal. Was it brown or red? Did it fill a pad or just when wiping?

It's dark red and is not as heavy a period but more than spotting. Got no pain like I would with a period.
