how many DPO to test?

Hi - kind of new to this even tho its my second time TTC.

On 2nd cycle and ovulated 17th. Negative test today but I'm sure its too soon? Not clued up on this as fell straight away with my DD. I don't remember testing before, until my period was due but my app said to do it today.

In the past I've had negatives until 12 dpo, so about 2-3 days before period was due. This is the ic rapid tests though, the more sensitive tests probably work a bit earlier.

I tested today at 10dpo and got bfn again, so will follow my own advice and wait a couple of days before trying again. Good luck!
