Late af after map!

I took Ella one on the 31st which was 4 days after I had sex and the condom broke (I know the earlier you take it the better but all the chemists were closed and I can’t drive)

I am now 6 days officially late and 10 days past flos prediction (which I have never been past) I’m just worried that it might not have worked even tho I took a test when I was 3 days late and it was negative.

So I guess I’m asking have you taken the map and been this late? And if I am 7+ days late what do I do?

I’ve also had some weird symptoms like having weird cravings (vinegar & ready salted crisps), I’m weeing so much more and I’ve had more discharge that I’ve ever had (tmi sorry) and idk if these are side effects of the pill, pms or pregnancy I’m so confused!

I’m sorry if this sounds so stupid I just need some advice 😕

The MAP works by preventing/delaying ovulation, so it wouldn't be unusual for it to lengthen your cycle and delay your period. However, if you've already ovulated, it doesn't work, and 4 days after sex is quite late to take it.

Normally if you're pregnant enough for "symptoms" you're pregnant enough for a positive test. And many of the very early symptoms of pregnancy are symptoms of raised progesterone, which you also get before your period. So if you keep testing negative, most likely the MAP has just caused you to have a longer cycle than usual, but all you can do is keep using tests to check until your period comes.

The huge amount of hormones in the MAP often causes a delayed AF- IMO anyway, but usually only a few days late.

I assume you have done a few pregnancy tests?

Was this a regular partner you have had STI checks with? If not, I'd go to a sexual health clinic asap! Especially if this discharge is new and not usual for you.

Hi everyone thank you for your responses! I know the pill can affect you a bit I guess I’m just worrying as I start uni next week 😬
I have only done 1 test which was a cheapy by Morrison’s as a precaution and just took that as face value and that my period would be here soon but im not so sure any more!

And spikeyplants I have been with my boyfriend for a year so I don’t think it would be that and if it is then that opens up another can of worms 😂
