Went looking for the Clomid thread and thought it might be about time to start a new one!
I'm starting cycle 6 of Clomid tomorrow - AF showed up this morning. At least she didn't keep me waiting like last month.
Hope it's all gone quiet on the thread for a good reason

I'll talk to you nomoremagnolia. Sorry that period turned up. Have they increased your doseage of clomid?

I hope everyone else all ok too. x

nomoremagnolia · 10/12/2007 16:23

No same dose, just no joy back to fertility unit end of Jan.
How are you?

OP posts:
Awenamanger · 10/12/2007 21:15

surprised they havent upped the dose. They were going to up mine from 50 to 100 after first month.

Am doing fine here, 37 weeks already, thought he was arriving last Thursday and dp had to fly back early from Japan. Had to have steriods etc for LO's lungs. He didnt arrive so no idea when to expect him.

reallyheartbroken · 10/12/2007 21:27

Hi All

Nomoremagnolia - hope this cycle is the lucky one for you.

Has anyone had stomache ache from taking Clomid?

I've only been on it for one cycle so far but am having really quite bad stomach ache.

Been for blood test today to see if Clomid working - fingers crossed

Awenamanger · 10/12/2007 21:29

fingers x-d for your reallyheartbroken. My day 21s were not positive for us, but we kept going for it as it were turns out i ov'd later than expected in cycle.

nomoremagnolia · 10/12/2007 22:06

Hi reallyheartbroken I had stomach cramps that I put down to ov pains - similar to the discomfort (not pain as such) I felt after the gynae had been poking around!!
The clomid was making me ov ok by first blood tests (prog level of 58) so no need to up the dose.
Awen 37 weeks So he'll be here around xmas hopefully

Ah ha! I've been wondering if there was another thread.

reallyheartbroken - Hope your blood tests bring good news.

nomore - if I've worked it out right you should be CD6 so your last day of taking the clomid (assuming you're on the cd2-6 regime) Fingers crossed for you this month.

Awen - I keep expecting to see your name on a 'Birth Announcements' thread . Hope all is going really well.

I'm still taking metformin. It's not making me feel queasy any more - that only lasted a couple of days, fortunately. Now it's just a matter of hoping that it works and I get a period soon so I can get back on the clomid - all 150mg of it! Fingers crossed all round hey?

nomoremagnolia · 11/12/2007 20:43

Hi tigers yes I took the last tablet today, ceremoniously threw the box away, then dug it out of the bin as I thought I ought to keep the details of what drugs I've been taking (in case I get rushed to hospital or something...)

OP posts:
Moocha · 11/12/2007 22:12

Awaiting AF. Apparently have ovulated accoring to my blood tests so fingers crossed. Have got strangely sore boobs so not sure what that means! Will keep you updated.

Moocha · 12/12/2007 23:05

Ok AF has arrived! Will I ever get pregnant??????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

AndATigerschickInAPearTree · 13/12/2007 09:06

Yes you will.

So sorry that your period has started. Have you started your next round of Clomid today?
Fingers crossed for you for this month.

Moocha · 13/12/2007 09:28

No, will class today as day 1 as yesterday is was only because I am so tuned in to it that I know. Will start clomid tomorrow. (Last cycle.) Although Appointment for IVF clinic has come through.

I am ovulating.
I have nothing wrong with me.
Everything is fine.
I am trying not to stress.
It has been 28 months.
Why is it taking so long???

Awenamanger · 13/12/2007 10:22

Moocha - so sorry period arrived Sending you lots of hugs ((((()))))) There seems no rhyme or reason on fertility. I remember getting so frustrated that there were som many people who seems to fall from one night stands etc and having unwanted pregnancies and it seems so damn unfair that couples who are desperately trying to become parents have such a hard time. xxxxxx

makecakesnotwar · 13/12/2007 13:03

Sending you big hugs Moocha...this whole ttc thing is so bloody unfair...we took five Clomid cycles then three weeks after we told everyone, we found out DH's brother and girlfriend are pg 'by accident'...bloody grateful I was pg when I heard the news as I don't think I'd have recovered.

Bump and I sending lots of festive babydust.

PS- hello Awenlookslikeamanger!!!How's the bump?

Moocha · 13/12/2007 20:54

Thanks everyone - I'm just so down about it I'm sure that doesn't help!
Phone IVF clinic today and got an appt for Feb, but I really didn't want to go down that route.
Have dug out my fertility monitor and going to start using that again!!
Will keep you updated.

Makecakes - I know how you feel - my whole family seem to be able to conceive except me!!

Awenamanger · 13/12/2007 21:10

makecakes - bloody Huge

reallyheartbroken · 15/12/2007 15:05

Hi everyone

I hope you're all well.

Moocha - it sounds like it's your time for some good luck soon so I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.

Blood test proved that depsite 100mg dose of clomid that I'm not ovulating.

If clomid doesn't get you ovulating after first cycle does that mean it's not going to on the next cycle either unless the dosage is increased?

My stomach aches obviously weren't ovulating pains

Awenamanger - thanks for your words of advice. We'll do the same just in case! Hope your Christmas is exciting.

Nomoremagnolia - now you've taken your last tablet I hope it all happens for you.

AndATigerschickInAPearTree · 16/12/2007 08:12

Hi RHB - I wasn't ovulating on 50mg or 100mg either. My specialist said that I should do 2 months at 50mg to see if it took a bit longer to 'kick in'. At 100mg tho, she changed my dose after one month (I have yet to take 150mg, I'm waiting for my period).
However, I have a friend who conceived her ds with Clomid and IIRC she didn't ovulate the first month but did the second and third, which was when she conceived.
HTH

Rachee · 16/12/2007 19:26

hello all, just thought i would drop into this thread, i was on clomid for 10 cycles over 2 years..... now have a 15 day old boy !! so it does work.... eventually. or was it the fact that we got a puppy in september and then moved house in december then concieved feb ! so go out and order a puppy and a house from santa !! LOL....

Did m/c twins , then after 8 months of TTC lost other twin to DS at 6 weeks.... i am a fan of clomid, but it does take time to get into your system, i kept spreading my doses out ie, had few months off here and there to give my DH chance inbetween mood swings.....

Good luck all, i wish you all sucsess xXx

Tigerschick · 15/01/2008 12:01

Hello???

Don't know if anyone is still checking this thread but I know what we're all like - we check to see if anyone has posted before we decide to post ourselves ... usually.

Quick up-date on me, incase anyone is interested. I was given Metformin before Christmas and was told that it should make me have a period within about 3 weeks. So when I got to 6 weeks of waiting I phoned my specialist and I went for a scan this morning. My womb lining was 10.1mm thick, which is better than previous months but still not enough, apparently. So now I'm back on provera as well as Metformin.

Hope everyone else is OK, any BFPs over the festive period??

nomoremagnolia · 15/01/2008 16:54

As things stand at the mo I'm not really qualified to be on this thread any more. 6 months of Clomid and not pg so am back to hospital in a couple of weeks to find out what they're going to do next.

OP posts:
Tigerschick · 15/01/2008 18:50

Oh, nomore, so sorry that you have gone through the whole cycle. Can I ask, were you responding to the Clomid? It hasn't been making any difference to me, yet, so I don't know how long they will let me take it for.
Really hope you get some news soon

nomoremagnolia · 15/01/2008 19:35

I know I ov'd in the first cycle as I had a day 21 blood test, but no monitoring after that so can't be absolutely sure, but I think it was working. Will let you know what they say at the hospital...

OP posts:
makecakesnotwar · 15/01/2008 20:58

Nomore- jus waned to send my love and hope that there is positive news at hospital. Keeping eberything croseed xxxxxxxxxxxxxx

nomoremagnolia · 15/01/2008 21:27
