Purchased some pregnancy tests yesterday in preparation as we're TTC.

I had my implant removed on the 6th of this month and we've been ttc since then. The only problem I have right now is that I have no clue when my period is due!

I bled occasionally while on the implant, some months I'd bleed and others nothing. No idea if there was a pattern or what not as I wasn't keeping track but the last bleed I had was on the 29th of August, so a week or so before removal. That honestly felt like a real period, I know it wasn't actually a period, but I experienced pretty bad cramps and mood swings.

Had implant removed on the 6th and had another bleed 4 days later on the 10th, I presume this was a withdrawal bleed and not a real period.

So now I have no idea when to expect my next period or unsure when I'll be classed as late! Do I wait until the 29th of this month to test or until the 10th of next month as they're both a month after I bled last? Or do I just start doing weekly tests now until I either get a positive or a period?

Apologies for the rambly post! It's all so exciting yet so frustrating! I now understand why some women wait until they're cycles are back to normal before TTC. Thanks in advance!

Hi OP, I’m following this thread as well as I’m kind of the same as you. Came off my pill over a week ago and not actively ‘trying’ but also not being careful, we are just going to see what happens at the moment.

I’ve bought tests but like you I have no idea when to test as I haven’t had a period in 11 years due to the pill so have no idea when my cycles are. The plan was to wait til I got my cycles back but we’re too impatient!

Hopefully someone will be along with some helpful info soon. Smile

@pinkfizz1 I ended up taking a test yesterday, so impatient 😂. It was 3 weeks to the day since my implant was removed so thought it was a decent amount of time to wait. It was negative which I expected. I'll probably wait now until next week to retest if AF doesn't make an appearance before then!

@fallhappy1 Sorry to hear about your BFN, I think I'll probably end up testing earlier than I should as well. I'm trying really hard to hold out for a few weeks but it's hard when you have no idea what's going on with your cycle isn't it?!

I've told myself to wait until 14th October. But... watch this space, I'll probably cave way before then Grin
