Ttc #2 and took MANY cbd opks with #1.

Yesterday I had my 6th blank circle.
/low fertility symbol and that was cd14. I have 26-29 day cycles usually but my longest has been 30. I took the test at about 5am yesterday, brought it back to my bedroom and it was still deciding which symbol so I went to sleep to look later. At half 6, I ejected it as there was no symbol displayed and the screen was blank. I inserted the test stick I'd used back in and it came up with the book symbol and the test stick symbol also which seemed very odd but it processed the stick as low fertility.

This morning, I got the flashing smiley face but I'm not sure if it is genuine! As far as my cycles go, it is a day where I could have it but how would I know if it should be the flashing or a blank? I have had no ewcm this cycle.

I don’t really understand why you don’t think the result is genuine, can you explain? Why don’t you just take another one to confirm?

@Hopefulhedgehog I wasn't sure if the test reset itself, which I'm guessing it did and if it is using the correct baseline from my fmu yesterday, to see a rise in LH. If I take another, it will only show as high fertility, it wouldn't show low again. I have taken cheapies alongside and they have been completely faint every time since cd8.

@Chanel05 the flashing smiley means a rise in oestrogen, not LH. So you would now expect to see the flashing smiley for a few days days (the number of days varies from woman to woman) until it turns to a static smiley. The static smiley means it has detected your LH surge.

But you're right that, once it has detected oestrogen, it won't go back to empty smiley. And once it has detected the LH surge and gone static smiley, it won't go back to flashing or empty until your next cycle. If it misses the LH surge and you get more than 8 (I think) days of flashing smiley, it recommends you try again next cycle.

As far as I know, the LH surge level it detects is absolute, not relative to the day before.

@cunningplan101 ahh yes, it's been nearly two years since I finished ttc so I have forgotten a lot (though at the time, after 18 months, I could have written a book with my knowledge 😂).

Great, thanks for your input. Hopefully I should see a static soon then. In the past, I have gone from low to peak and anything from 1-9 days flashing so who knows!

I had my first vaccine 7 weeks ago and I feel like it's messed my body up 🤦‍♀️.

I've just read the instructions (who'd have thought it!) and it just means I ejected the stick too soon.

Thanks for your help. I've been up the entire night with a poorly daughter and my head is very fuzzy today.
