It seems AF is coming to get me end of this week (Fri), so instead of feeling sorry for myself I’m trying to look forward to October and getting to try again! šŸ¤žšŸ»šŸ¤žšŸ»šŸ¤žšŸ»

Anyone else with me?

@Effram oh no! Were you testing every day? Did you manage to DTD? Hopefully you have a good chance this month! šŸ¤žšŸ»

I’ve never tracked my ovulation using OPKs and now I’m wondering if it’s worth starting? I see you all do and now worrying that my app is completely off and all efforts this month would be wasted.

As a starting point, should I look to use the easy@home ones or just go straight to CB?

Danani · 07/10/2021 11:37

@Firsttimetrier, don't worry. I'm using OPKs for a 3rd month and they line up PERFECTLY with my app predictions, so I feel like I've learned nothing new. Will probably not test going forward and just go off my app. I think it's worth you using them just to see if your apps are on track or not. Easy@home are nice and cheap, but I also quite like the CB ones.

@Firsttimetrier Hi! I tracked my cycle for not getting pregnant too and when I used it to TTC and began tracking using OPKs, it confirmed my app predictions were correct. I think if you have regular cycles, your app will probably be pretty accurate. If you do use some, I found the CB ones the best. The cheapies are not clear enough for me. I like the simplicity of the CB ones.

Firsttimetrier · 07/10/2021 12:05

@Danani maybe I’m tempted to give them a go as I’d hate to be completely off!

Do you test first thing in the morning at the same time every day? I think that’s where I’d struggle as some days I have to leave for work earlier.

Danani · 07/10/2021 12:08

All the OPKs have instructions on when to start testing, usually 4-5 days before predicted O. They also have instructions for what time of day to test. With CB I test first thing, it's never been an issue and I actually think that's what the instructions say. With the cheapies, I've been testing morning and evening.

@Effram ah stop! You're giving me hope again šŸ˜‚

Gosh I hate being the wining one, but each time I hope it's not over yet I'm reminded it probably is by stupid period like cramps.. I love that you're all trying to hype me up and I know I'm still in the game unless AF arrives, it's just hard staying positive, especially that I had really good feeling about this month!!! This journey will be full of emotions for sure... I better take a chill pill lol I'm only just starting!

I will try to get better and stop complaining.... ā˜¹ļø

Hope you all have an amazing Thursday! ā¤ļø

Thanks ladies you're all so AMAZING!

A bit of update in here: had the scan this morning, lining is now 10.5 mm 🄳🄳 one of the follicles is nice big and juicy, but the other one is disappeared (or already popped out, who knows šŸ¤·šŸ»ā€ā™€ļø) Got the trigger shot so we are scheduled tomorrow morning for the treatment. However I won't able to do early testing as the trigger shot includes hcg and it can be shown on test upto 14 days 😩🤣. I might do a test tonight just to finally see that two lines šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚

Danani · 07/10/2021 13:23

@Dobcaty ah yayyyy!!! So excited for you, hope it all goes brilliantly tomorrow and you get those big thick double lines, huni!!! x

@Dobcaty great news!! Fingers crossed šŸ€

With ovulation strips, how quickly after the surge does the line become faint again? I've got all the symptoms of ovulation but it's really light. First day of testing at cd14 so I'm wondering if the surge has already happened!

Danani · 07/10/2021 15:34

Hmmm @Cruz86 it’s not impossible that the surge has passed…maybe CD14 is a bit late. When do you normally O do you know?

I think it depends on each body, and at what point of your cycle the ovulation occurs. How long is your cycle usually? I assume it’s longer than 28 days since you started testing at CD14 (for some people ovulation already happened or is about to).

I had my peak yesterday evening (CD12), and I’m still having quite dark OPKs today. It also depends how much you drink/how diluted your wee is.

Cruz86 · 07/10/2021 16:04

Thank you @Danani and @Mummytobe93. I only started testing today because I was waiting for them to be delivered. I wasn't going to use them and then changed my mind šŸ¤¦šŸ¼ā€ā™€ļø maybe my surge has happened already then because I do have 27-28 day cycles. Just confused with cm. Doesn't seem to add up. Had sharp pains a few days ago but sticky cm. Now my cm is more watery/ewcm but light line on test! It's such a minefield 😩

Danani · 07/10/2021 16:13

Oh. I’d say (maybe incorrect) but roughly if your cycle is 28 ish days long, your O day is probably CD13/CD14. Sharp pains could be ovulation pains. With CM I am really bad, no idea what to look for, but I usually only experience a day (max 2g) of EWCM the day before O (so when my peak is).
Now that you have the OPKs, if you don’t get your BFP this month, start testing early next time, maybe from CD8 - CD10, just to be on the safe side!

OP posts:
Mummytobe93 · 07/10/2021 16:31

In that case @Cruz86 you could’ve had your surge already but if you still got fertile CM your egg might be still in your tube, waiting to be fertilised so I’d get on it tonight if possible!
The whole thing with the positive OPK is that it happens approximately 24-36 before the ovulation. So don’t worry too much about negative OPKs, you might be ovulating right now! xx

Danani · 07/10/2021 17:00

Update from me: after the static 😊 this morning, I did another easy@home now and got Peak on it too. I’m 99.9% sure O is tomorrow. Would love to DTD tonight but literally have zero hopes that it will happen. 😬 wish me luck y’all! I hope everyone gets laid tonight šŸ˜‚

After saying yesterday I'm not feeling like DTD, it happened šŸ™ˆšŸ˜‚

My bbt has also dipped so I'm hoping that means ovulation is coming soon šŸ¤žšŸ»

CatLady93 · 07/10/2021 17:36

@Danani We are perfectly in sync! 🤣 Got my peak this morning 😁 DTD last night.. don't know if we'll do it tonight as well. It's hard because I'd be happy for him to just crack on and enjoy but lucky for me DP is a very attentive lover haha so he wouldn't really enjoy that! We'll see.. 🤣

MrsBiddy · 07/10/2021 18:00

Hi gals šŸ™‚

Cd10 and had my internal scan today. (Scan was because of light bleeding for months but all has stopped because of Metformin) She said ovaries and endometrial lining was good.
She did say there was a fibroid, has anyone else had this and will it affect fertility? She didn't say much as she isn't a consultant.

Hope everyone is doing well this month xx

Thanks 😊

Mrslight · 07/10/2021 18:16

Anybody else is 2DPO or around it? How are you doing? I promised myself not to test earlier than 10 DPO but I have a feeling I will give in earlier

beckybabyx · 07/10/2021 18:56

Can anyone interpret this? Along with peak on clearblue yesterday. Does this mean I’ll probably O today?

Cruz86 · 07/10/2021 19:12

Thank you @Danani and @Mummytobe93!

I didn't realise it meant it was before ovulation so maybe the surge has happened and I'm ovulating now. I hope so!! Going to DTD tonight to be sure. Got no energy though šŸ˜‚ x

Cruz86 · 07/10/2021 19:13

Are any of those lines as dark as the control line @beckybabyx? I can't tell by the pic x
