Stupidly took a test today only 7 (maybe not even that) DPO and got a BFN!!! Sad

I am confused as it's my first month trying since being off the pill so I didn't really know when I was ovulating (aside from what looked like a lot of ovulation mucus!!)

Me and DP have tried x6 times already when we thought I was most fertile. Our first try was only 12th September.

Not due on period until 1st week of October so I suppose I am still too early... I would have thought maybe I would have had the faintest of lines? Sad

Going to drive myself mad with this 2 week wait....

Hello, try to put the tests down (easier said than done). If you haven't tracked ovulation with BBT and OPKs then you could've ovulated later than what you thought and either way 7DPO is very early to test. It can take a fair few months for your body to regulate after coming off the pill too so try not to worry about things 😊

Pugmumm · 21/09/2021 20:18

@LaundryForever I certainly am going to put them down now as it's just deflated me.

I have heard you can be lucky the first month after coming off the pill but I suppose I may not be one of them. I've been taking supplements also. I'll just have to wait and see Grin

I'm not going to test again until if I'm late on.

The egg won’t even have implanted yet so it’s impossible to get a positive test at this stage!

Kyoshi · 22/09/2021 08:39

Hey OP! Funnily enough me and my OH started trying on the 12th too, and I’m also due on the first week of Oct! I got curious and did a pregnancy test like 6 days after our first go 😂 but then I did another 3 because none of them worked or even showed the test line 🥴

Anyway just thought I’d let you know you’re not alone with the early testing and I too am going mad with the wait. Last time I got pregnant it was a surprise and I was 7 weeks by the time I found out. So I hadn’t anticipated what this wait would be like. It’s painful 😅

Pugmumm · 22/09/2021 08:48

@Tippexy thank you. I just thought even a faint line .... honestly I have no idea. At the moment we are just winging it as unsure when I ovulated.

Thank you so much @Kyoshi you will have to let me know how you get on!! When are you going to test?

This is me and my partner's first child so we are both a little unsure what to do. (Well he has no clue doesn't even know I use my Flo app just does what I say 😂) good luck 🤞🏻

Month one is way too early to be worrying about ovulation tests etc especially if you are under 35 just have sex every other day after your period ends - so long as you and DH aren't "clueless" about the actual sex part you'll be fine 😉

BabyFeet92 · 22/09/2021 09:25

@Pugmumm I feel your frustration. Everything felt super overwhelming the first cycle and I was so sure it would happen despite knowing the odds are slim.

Now I really try my best to just wait for AF to show up. If it doesn't show up when expected, I'll test. It's much less devastating than seeing blank tests every month (and much cheaper). We've been trying for 7 months now, and I'm very glad I stopped testing. I really think I would've lost all my marbles by now.

Pugmumm · 22/09/2021 10:05

Thanks @tiggerwhocamefortea we are 28 so hoping we may be ok, just never know until you start trying. I've suffered with slight polycystic cysts so always been a bit of anxiety for me. Thanks. X

@BabyFeet92 sorry to hear that but super glad you are in a good head space now.

You have to be very strong to just tell yourself to put the 'test down'. I've taken 2 already hoping for the faintest line... not even a week DPO yet I don't think.

I know when I am due on so just waiting for any sign of that now.

Good luck to you and please keep us updated Brew

@Pugmumm ahh I’m not sure! I’m gonna pop to the shops shortly so I’ll grab some clear blue tests and probably some of the cheaper ones too 😅 but I’m gonna try to hold off on using the clear blues until maybe the end next week (yeah right!) I have a question, when people say they’re like ‘6DPO’ does that mean past the first day of ovulation or the last? I’m very new to the conception lingo!! 😅

OrangeTortoise · 22/09/2021 10:24

I never tested until my period was late. Honestly it's the best way if you can OP.

Pugmumm · 22/09/2021 11:15

@Kyoshi I will probably join you. No doubt I'll be tempted to test before but for my sanity I need to wait Sad😂

Yea 6DPO means '6 days past ovulation' so when your ovulation stops its most likely the 2 week time that implantation should be happening. Think I have explained that right!

OP posts:
Pugmumm · 22/09/2021 11:16

@OrangeTortoise I will do that thank you. I know I'll drive myself mad otherwise.

OP posts:
PinzQueen · 22/09/2021 11:35

@Kyoshi ... 6DPO means it's been six days since you ovulated. The day of ovulation is Day Zero, the next day is day 1.
