Pfizer infertility

Hi all,

Has anyone gotten pregnant after being double vaxxed with Pfizer? Sorry if this seems silly but a few of my friends are struggling and also had irregular periods since being double dosed so I wanted to ease their minds. I’m not TTC yet but now have irregular periods!

Thanks for sharing x

Yes, I got my second vaccination beginning of May. No problems with period. Then pregnant June!
My partner was also fully vaccinated at that point.

Bells3032 · 17/09/2021 12:33

Yep - two weeks after my second vax i got pregnant accidently whilst waiting for my IVF transfer! despite my DH's very low sperm count. I am 20 weeks now

two of my friends also fell pregnant within 2 weeks of their second pfizer - one of which had previously had a an ectopic and the other had had three miscarriages. both are now 14 weeks.

TheGrumpyGoat · 17/09/2021 12:35

Yes my SIL. They’re in another country and were both fully vaccinated by June. Now 8 weeks pregnant.

Tippexy · 17/09/2021 12:36

Thousands of women have.

This is a scaremongering thread and should be deleted.

Ozanj · 17/09/2021 12:39

I have 5 first cousins who managed to get pregnant within a month of getting double jabbed with Astrazeneca. They all had problems conceiving before the jab (pcos runs in the family) and I know at least two have enrolled into Indian studies that are investigating the link between Az and improved fertility in women with Insulin resistance.

I had my first Pfizer vaccination during a miscarriage in early July. My second one 3 weeks ago. Just had my BFP this morning. I'm over 40 too. Hth

IwillrunIwillfly · 17/09/2021 12:49

I had both doses and so did my partner before I got pregnant.

NutellaEllaElla · 17/09/2021 12:51

People have asked the same question before and loads of people have got pregnant after the vaccine, multiple births and all! Stop ignoring things you don't want to hear.

NashvilleQueen · 17/09/2021 12:57

A few of your friends, all of whom are trying to conceive after Pfizer, are struggling?

I'm also struggling. With this sort of nonsense conspiracy theory scaremongering.

PurpleDaisies · 17/09/2021 12:59

Not again. This has been asked over and over again by faux naive mostly first time posters.

There is no evidence the vaccines cause infertility. None.

YetAnotherBeckyMumsnet · 17/09/2021 14:01

Hello everyone. These threads always draw many reports as posters are (quite reasonably) alert for misinformation. At the same time, many posters do ask questions here because they've had conflicting info from other sources and we think that's pretty understandable.

Misinformation and scaremongering helps no one and so we'll generally remove links to misinformation, or claims presented as fact but without a/a reliable source. As always, we'd advise consulting a medical professional if you have any questions or concerns. You can also take a look at the NHS website for more information.

Thanks.

We needed IVF after 3.5 years of trying for DS, male factor infertility.

Fell pregnant a month after having my vaccine whilst still BF, having not had a period in over 2 years. We joke about the vaccine being the reason I got pregnant Grin

Welshcake15 · 17/09/2021 14:19

Double jabbed (first one before becoming pregnant) and now 17 weeks along. I know of several people who are also pregnant after having been vaccinated. There's no known link between having the vaccine and fertility issues.

IsabelHerna · 17/09/2021 14:42

The only way to fight misinformation is with information from credible sources. When we don't know something, it's good to ask a question, so I would say to OP bravo for asking instead of fully trusting the misinformation and scaremongering out there.

This is true. Rather than calling to delete threads, it’s better to answer the OP with accurate information, which is then available for others to read.
OrangeJuiceAndNoodles · 17/09/2021 14:45

I had pfizer and then got unexpectedly pregnant.

My periods were irregular afterwards but clearly, there was no ill effect. The opposite actually Grin

OrangeJuiceAndNoodles · 17/09/2021 14:47

Fully agree @IsabelHerna

It's never a bad thing to let people ask questions.

guac · 17/09/2021 15:09

Of all those who got pregnant after being double jabbed, did any of them have irregular periods after the jab or did they continue as normal?

Bells3032 · 17/09/2021 15:29

@guac in both my friend and my case it seems our ovulation was delayed by about a week. in both cases we thought our next period was weird but turned out to be implantation bleeding. since all three were within a month couldn't tell you about irregular periods.

From my other friends some said they had one the following month but was back to normal after that (as you would expect with fevers etc)

Chad23 · 17/09/2021 16:00

I did - I came off cerazette in February due to irregular bleeding. I had my second vaccination in April and continued to have irregular periods. Conceived early July.

AllyCat31 · 17/09/2021 16:02

Just to share my experience - first dose I didn’t ovulate and my cycle was really long. Second dose I had delayed ovulation but then got pregnant. Currently 6w3d. Have a friend who’s 20w and she was double jabbed too but earlier cause she’s nhs worker.

It’s not nice having your cycle messed up but it will go back to normal and you can’t still get pregnant! Try not to stress 🙂

AllyCat31 · 17/09/2021 16:05

Can. CAN get pregnant 🤦‍♀️

NigellasMicrowave · 17/09/2021 16:33

Yes - positive pregnancy test six days after my second Pfizer.

ohfook · 17/09/2021 16:37

Not Pfizer but very soon after my second Az jab after seven months of trying.

Newmama93 · 17/09/2021 18:33

Thanks for sharing everyone!

People that say I’m fear mongering I’m definitely NOT, I’m asking a question due to so much misinformation out there and a side effect of irregular periods I wanted some reassurance that people have gotten pregnant, I now have that so know that it’s all BS that it can cause infertility. Thanks again to the lovely women that shared x
