Hello, ttc as quick as possible. 2 cycles and BFN so far. AF due Friday (wed now) but feel like AF is on the way. Could there still be a chance?

Any tips would be brilliant - we are already using ovulation sticks and BBT. DTD 3 day leading up to ovulation day

Are you using the ones with the flashing smiley faces? They're good. Sometimes it just takes a little while. Don't panic.

Bambi11 · 15/09/2021 13:20

@Wole I have been using the ovaview cheap ones from Amazon over the last few months to see when I ovulate and the last 2 months I’ve been using the clear blue too and it seem to show me ovulating day 16.
Did you find this useful?
Also did you DTD before or on ovulation? :)

It could be coincidence of course, but the only thing I did differently on the month I conceived (month 5) was starting sex earlier in my cycle. I had previously tried to plan it for a few days before ovulation (with help of opks) but the month I conceived, I had sex everyday from the moment my period finished until two days after ovulation. It's really hard to know for sure each month when we're going to ovulate, and I suspect I ovulated early that month. Good luck!

Bambi11 · 15/09/2021 20:35

@Fagin99 ohhh thank you for the tip. My DH won’t know what’s hit him Grin
I think it will take us longer as I do shift work but we’ll try this method if I’m out this month

OP posts:
Fagin99 · 15/09/2021 20:56

Ha ha, yes he did refer to it as "sex week" Grin. It wasn't almost the most romantic of settings and was often a case of "getting it done" when we were both exhausted after work, but whatever works I suppose..

Like I said, it could be coincidence though. Many couples have been lucky after just fitting dtd in once during a cycle!

Bambi11 · 15/09/2021 21:31

@Fagin99 I know. I though I was on the ball with ovulation but nope. Going to try ‘sex week’ this time. Fingers crossed!

My tip would be to enjoy yourself and try not to become too obsessive.

We all want to conceive as soon as possible but I truly believe it's down to luck.

From starting to conceive to giving birth was 27 months for me, included a mmc in between.

It's not what you want to hear but it can take a long time even when you're having all the sex at the right time and as many times as possible.

Bambi11 · 15/09/2021 21:38

@Chanel05 thank you. Yes I think I need to hear not to become obsessed with it :)

I used the CB ovulation sticks and they were brilliant. Got pregnant after my first period off the pill!

cactijones · 15/09/2021 22:57

So we had sex every other day when there was a flashing smiley then the day off and the day after the static smiley

Bambi11 · 16/09/2021 06:30

@cactijones you’re so lucky Star
We’ve been using the cheap ones and the clear blue that gives you a smiley the two peak days. DTD days leading up, on the day and the day after but no luck yet

@Bambi11
I agree don't get obsessed with it I have been trying for 4 years now with 4 miscarriages and 1 cp it norm to take up to a year or longer for it to happen.

pmtqueen · 17/09/2021 05:16

I'm 41, just recovering from miscarriage.
I've been doing a lot of reading since MC to improve my chances of BFP and the things I am trying are:
Taking 300mg of ubiquinol
Vit D
Magnesium
Folic acid
Zinc
Vit c
B12

Reiki to relax me

Just had first fertility acupuncture yesterday

Conceive plus lube/gel has just arrived in the post.

I'm eating well (already vegetarian and eat a mainly whole food diet with very little processed food).

No caffeine

Got a holiday to France booked with my partner. We leave on Monday for 2 weeks.
I feel like I've edged my bets and I'm going to try and relax about it all now.

Bambi11 · 17/09/2021 10:41

@pmtqueen so sorry to hear about your mc.
Thank you for the tips.
I’m pescatarian and do little processed, just started taking magnesium as my periods are so heavy and painful. Don’t drink caffeine anyway.
I’ve tried acupuncture but not for fertility so I’ll look into this.
Never tried reiki but will try anything!

Have a lovely holiday in France.

AF has arrived today so I’m out for this month x

Oh OP, sorry about AF, fingers crossed next month will be the one.

@pmtqueen thanks for the tips! Haven't tried reiki but I will try that too.
