Hi, I got my BFP a week or so ago and had kept testing throughout and all was well. I had a tiny bit of pink CM about 3-4 days ago but in the middle of the night I started having red blood. Not loads, but enough to know something isn't right! I'm pretty cute this would be a chemical as I'm 4w5d now but I've never even got a BFP before so not sure what to do! When would I get a negative test to know for sure I'm not pregnant anymore? I don't have any pain as such but I have that period feeling if that makes sense? Any advice would be super helpful! Thank you ❤️

Hello - so sorry you're going through this. With my chemical a test went negative within a day or so of the bleeding.

Have you support? X

@latte101 thank you for your reply. That's good to know as I thought it might be a few weeks! I will do a test tomorrow to see. Yes I'm very well supported thank you, it is really upsetting but I am trying to be realistic and pragmatic and taking the positive that I got pregnant after a year TTC x

Hi @hoola23 so sorry that you are going through this! I’m basically in the same situation and have been trying to find this out too. From what I have read with chemical pregnancies because they are so early you tend to get a negative test pretty quickly, I read somewhere that it’s generally within a week but I’ve heard a lot of people say there tests were positive one day and negative the next or at least started to fade.

It may not even be the case, have you spoken to your GP, maybe get booked in for bloods ? This is what I have done as I’ve been bleeding for a week presumed it was a chemical but my test actually got stronger so I have no idea what’s going on. Sorry for the long reply, I hope you are coping alright it’s such a stressful situation to be in. I hope everything turns out well for you x

@LIB2020 thanks for your reply lovely. I'm in two minds about doing a test as I don't think I can face a bfn again. Fed up of those🤣
My bleeding has been consistent but very light. Almost like a long slow bleed so far but bright red blood. I had pain for about an hour on Monday and none since so I'm presuming that's when things all ended. Are you having a blood test now to check? My gp just confirmed it over the phone when I said I'd had bleeding so just going with that. Fingers crossed for you x

Aww I know how you feel I was reluctant to test too but just thought I need to know so I can move on but continued to get positives.

Yeah GPs do tend to be like that with it being early there is nothing they can do but if the bleeding continues and you have pain I’d ring them back as you don’t want it to be an ectopic and especially if your tests are positive. You never know, plenty of women do have bleeding and go on to have a healthy baby. Maybe do a test in the morning? At least then you will know and if it’s still positive then you can ask for bloods and be on the radar.

I had blood tests today and I’m booked in again on Thursday so they will have today’s results and take more so they can check the trend and if the bloods do confirm I am still pregnant then I’m hoping they will send me for a scan too as I need to know what’s going on. I don’t feel very hopeful but I just want to have it confirmed now.
