Hi Guys, I'm new to TTC and need some help please.

I had my coil out last week and have been temping and testing to work out where I am on my cycle... as I have no idea 🤷🏻‍♀️ (I am not expecting to be fertile or able to fall pregnant straight away either!)

I have done a few ovulation tests (attached) and they seem to be getting darker. But it's still reading as low? Is this right? The test is almost as dark as the control now?

What do you think is going on, my knowledge is limited! Thank you so much xox

Hi @MrsYan, your tests still look a little way off from positive to me, so yes, it's perfectly possible for them to read as 'low' until they're literally a shade off being as dark as the control.

Sometimes I can't quite tell the difference between high and peak on mine with the naked eye, which is why I always keep testing for a few days until I see the line go really faint again. I've also a clearblue digital give me a peak reading (static smiley face) when cheap tests kept getting stronger more than 48 hours after that - my LH climbed really high once (to 2.47)!

If you can, make sure when you're testing that you do it with wee of a similar concentration at around the same of day, in the same spot, with the same lighting. This will help your app read the tests consistently.

Not positive yet, keep going. Personally i would test around midday and 4pm and keep it consistent day to day. You might even find your level goes back down again tomorrow, it can bounce around. For me, I would get a very distinct high which lasted about 24 hours so there was no way of missing it, but everyone is different.

Thank you both for your replies.

Ah ok, I wasn't sure what time I was meant to be testing so will make sure it's the same time from now on.

I am taking pictures in my bathroom, which doesn't have a window so the lighting should always be consistent! (Not having a bathroom window has its uses!)

Do you think from these tests I will go on to ovulate soon?

Thanks xox

It's really not possible to tell from the amount if data you have when you will ovulate I'm afraid- it's often not a linear thing and could go back down to zero tomorrow, or shoot up to 200, or stick around the same level! Once you've tested for a couple of months you'll be able to see more of a pattern. Mine was usually pretty low and then just shot up one day, high for another day and then back down to low again. One month though it was a gradual stepped rise over 5 days and then high the next.
