Is anyone else feeling the same.

Feeling a bit deflated and now actually dreading the two week wait to AF. When we first started it was all exciting and buying the first response early detection tests looking for signs filling in my logs on my apps.

With my first 2 children in my 20’s with my ex partner I got pregnant the first month trying, no opk’s no apps needed just one night dtd both times and yep baby was made.

Now I’m older in my 30’s and trying with my new partner and getting no where.

Top it off only managed DTD once on evening of CD12 also first time using conceive plus, positive opk CD14 (am) but pretty sure I had ovulation pains evening of CD13 but didn’t manage do an opk that evening so wasn’t sure when my LH surge actually started. Not managed DTD since. Probably out again this month.

I’m thinking just ditch the opk stick, the apps and just chill out with it all.

Sorry you're feeling disheartened @Kirstyx2, it is such a frustrating process especially if it has happened easily for you before. But each month is a new chance, you've dtd in the right window and one time is all it takes!

I think relaxing is a good idea, but it depends a bit on whether your ovulation is regular and whether you can normally dtd regularly. We are using a donor so only have one chance a month and ovulation isn't always regular, so all the tracking and testing is sadly necessary. But if youre able to chill and still have the chance each month, at least it might not be as stressful! Good luck for this month Smile

Hi OP, sorry you're feeling like this. I'm feeling the same, 10 months in now. I went to see a fertility specialist last week due to past problems and one of the things he advised me was to stop using opk as it'll help me relax. I've used them since cycle 1 along with SMEP and couldn't imagine not using them but I listened to his advice (because I paid so much for it 😭) and this is the first month I've not used them, I feel so much more relaxed, there's not really a ttw because I don't know if I'm even in it or not and it's stopped me obsessing over day numbers. I definitely won't be using them again (although I can't help but know my body signals during ovulation now anyway).
He also said DTD every 2 - 3 days and not be so commanding with it to poor OH! So if you dtd only on cd12, you will have hit ovulation anyway ☺️

Hi OP sorry you’re feeling so down with it. It’s so tough. Recently took me 20 months to fall pregnant with our first and 31 weeks now. I did all the opks etc.

By the end. I didn’t have pregnancy tests in the house and had to go buy one when I was suspicious I was pregnant as it was just to much stress early testing all the time. I have irregular cycles but we did SMEP and while I did do an opk when I thought I had signs of ovulation I had stopped daily testing. We were waiting for nhs fertility referral and had just had some private tests. While I don’t think stressing less helps you get pregnant if there’s a problem I do think having a plan in place and taking away some of the stressful things we had been doing helped us. I also had starting talking a bit about how I was feeling with some friends and an online fertility yoga class and I think being able to chat through my feelings really helped too.

Sorry only just replying, not sure what DPO I am can be anywhere between 2/3 dpo I think. I’m going to wait to see if AF never arrives this month before taking a pregnancy test. Will save me some money as well. I think I’ve actually spent a small fortune. I’ve been told to ditch the OPK’s by a friend because they can be misleading on ovulation. I think I will be lost not doing them next month tbh but going to give it a more relaxed approach and see what happens. Hey we never know may not need to but not holding out much hope for this month just going put it to the back of my head now.
