Bleed and tested positive after?!

Has anyone had a bleed and tested positive after?

I know it sounds bizarre but I have had a bleed from 9th September until today and now its just stopped. Normally my periods are 5 days long.

I did test prior to this bleed and it was negative around 9/10dpo when I did test.

I'm not sure if what I had was a period or what, a short one if so!

Why don't you test?

Yes you can have some bleeding in early pregnancy and the pregnancy can continue successfully. On the other hand you can have bleeding in early pregnancy and it doesn't continue but you may still get a positive pregnancy test for a few weeks after the miscarriage. It's very hard to know. You can take another test and refer yourself to the local early pregnancy unit and they should be able to scan you to be able to confirm.

I've tested this morning and it was negative, but I'm when I have been for wee this morning on wiping it's brown-ish looking in colour.

I'm in the exact same boat. Normal 29 day cycle and 5 day period but came on 5 days early and fully stopped bleeding after 3 days! Tested and got a negative! No idea what's going on.

I had the same thing this month, only a two day period which is very odd! Haven't tested since the bleed yet as away and don't have any tests but will do tomorrow morning. Mine was quite heavy though so I expect I am not pregnant.

It's bizarre isn't it, glad I'm not the only one! I did speak with my gp on Thursday as I was having some pain with it and just felt super bloating/pressure on my bladder. She did say she was referring me for a scan and that I'd get a letter in the post. In the mean time I have to take a strong dose of coodamol for the pain as and when required. I don't feel any pain today, just bloating and no flow so I don't understand. Never had this before!

@allthingssparkly interested to hear how long it takes you to get your scan letter. I have been waiting for my letter for three months after starting investigations and a little worried it has got lost in the post, although the other half of me knows that the NHS is snowed under and there are urgent cases to be treated first!

@LondonladyTTC I'm not holding my breath for it to be anytime soon unfortunately!

I tested this morning and definitely negative so must have just been an unusually short period!

@LondonladyTTC I'm sorry to hear that, I haven't tested yet I need to order or go out and get some tests, it will put my mind at rest either way once I know.

Hello everyone! Been lurking on the forum for months and signed up to reply to this. I miscarried at 7 weeks last cycle, and ovulated 17 days later. Had some brown spotting 9DPO (which was Sunday) and still continuing today - it’s on and off and nothing like my usual period, so I’ve been doing tests every morning and have had BFNs, including first thing this morning. However, I have literally just had a very faint BFP!! I’m crossing my fingers that it’s implantation bleeding and the bean will stick.

In the exact same boat, surprised to know so many of us are having the same symptoms. Always had regular AF and this time just minimal spotting instead of the usual heavy flow, which has never happened before!

I'm the same too. I'm 13dpo but af is 4 days late (short luteal phase) so CD37. BFN on Monday, but light pink spotting yesterday (just enough to wipe, nothing on a pad) and this morning. Normally AF starts very heavy, so a bit confused. Trying to be hopeful but also trying to be realistic.

@Dr04 it is odd that there's a few having the exact same!
