Someone help I’m driving myself crazy!

Hi everyone!

I am driving myself absolutely mental trying to work out my conception date. My period was around 11th January in a 31/32 day cycle. I have estimated to have ovulated around the 27/28th. According to my early dating scans my conception date was the 25th. Me and my partner had regular sex daily, sometimes twice daily on the 21, 22, 23, 24, 25, 26, 27, 28, 29, 30, 31 and so on. However, I am too embarrassed to tell him I was sexually assaulted at a party on the 30th jan. I woke up a few hours after the incident with brown blood everywhere quite a substantial amount with cramps which went away. My ovulation app and a few others have stated my fertile window would have been 22-27th Jan only one has said 20-29th Jan. a few other conception calculators have stated the 30th could’ve been a possible conception date however it’s unlikely. He now wants a DNA test and I am absolutely petrified and will be distraught it the outcome is the latter. My due date is the 18th October. Can anyone help?

I’m so sorry for your experience and your partner’s reaction. There’s absolutely nothing to be embarrassed about and you haven’t done anything wrong. If you think talking to someone would help then let me know and I can give you the contact details of some charities and organizations that offer support and counseling.
In answer to your question, if you actually ovulated on the 27th/28th then it’s very unlikely that you would have conceived on the 30th (eggs normally only last for about 12-24hrs after ovulation, so your fertile window would usually be about 4days before ovulation and the day after).
However, without using Basal Body Temperature, cervical mucus and ovulation prediction sticks it’s very difficult to tell exactly when you ovulated (most apps will just use your average menstrual cycle lengths to give an estimate of when it is likely you ovulated but these aren’t necessarily completely accurate and could be a couple of days out either way).
Honestly if you were having daily unprotected sex with your partner then it’s very likely that the baby is his, but only a DNA will be able to tell you with absolute certainty.

If he isn't aware of the assault and you have been actively trying to conceive, why is he asking for a DNA test?
