Letrozole when already ovulating - advice/thoughts?

Hi,

Starting first cycle on letrozole next week.
TTC for some time, bloods showed low progesterone (but not too low he said), and I ovulate regularly on a 33 day cycle.
Problem is I 'spot' from 4DPO onwards and AF arrives 13DPO.

My appointment with the fertility dr was so rushed. 5 mins in and out, he already decided he was giving me letrozole before he met me obviously. Because it was rushed I never got to ask questions and on reflection I have so many. I don't know how letrozole can help me, do you?

Would love to hear from someone whos been on it when they already were ovulating.....

Hello. I was given letrozole to strengthen ovulation (I had lowish progesterone -30 - but also short luteal phase). After no BFP in 13 months and god knows how many cycles I fell pregnant first cycle which ended in miscarriage and am now 11 weeks pregnant after 5 cycles following miscarriage.
I did have progesterone supplements also.
I’d say it’s worth a go. Good luck!!

Hi @beansprout55, did you manage to get letrozole on the NHS or did you have to see a private fertility doctor? X

@poppet131 you might be better off starting your own thread as OP may not return, but FWIW i had three cycles of letrozole to conceive DD and it was all NHS. GP referred to endocrinology (i have PCOS) and endocrinology referred to Assisted Conception Unit for scanning and treatment.

Hi OP I am also starting letrozole this week. AF due Christmas Day. Is your cycle going to be monitored?
