Hiya,

I've been off the pill for 9 months now, not actively ttc previously but we've started using these tests this cycle.

I have had a few dodgy (short) cycles the past couple so I started the tests on CD6 as per the instructions. Got my first flashing smiley on CD8 (which I was shocked at being so early in my cycle) and currently on CD12 so 5th day of flashing.

Thinking static smiley will be tomorrow but who knows?!

Does anyone have any positive experiences with these tests?xx

Yes, 3 pregnancies caught 2nd month, 1st month and 1st month using them! Totally worth the money IMO.

This pregnancy (currently almost 35 weeks) I had 11 days of flashing smileys and was starting to lose hope!

kmbegs · 09/09/2021 20:06

I love these ovulation tests but one thing to be aware of with them is that once the flashing smiley shows it will always show a flashing smiley, regardless of what it detects in your urine, until it finds peak fertility when it will go static. And if it doesn't find peak fertility it just keeps flashing until you give up! That's why it says only to keep testing for so many days once you get a flashing smiley as you might just have missed the peak. I'm sure you'll get a static but just so you know. I still love them but just to make you aware as I think some people aren't.

Thank you @Amz6219 and @kmbegs
I got a static smiley face this morning so just waiting for DP to get home from work to DTD Grin fingers crossed x

I've had really good experiences with them! Although I get about 5 days of flashing smileys generally before I get a static smiley, which is always a bit unnerving as I worry the static one will never come! But it usually does soon enough. I like the way they test for Estrogen as well as LH, just gives that extra confirmation that you're becoming fertile amongst other symptoms like CM etc. One thing I do though is if I think I'm approaching my peak (few days of flashing smiley alongside EWCM), I'll test in the afternoon rather than the morning because my LH surge generally shows up in the afternoon, know that just from doing cheapie OPKs in the past. Baby dust 💫

Amz6219 · 10/09/2021 10:44

Haha, yay!

My poor DH was exhausted when I had the 11 days of flashing (plan was DTD EOD on flashing then ED of peak but ended up a lot more), but it worked so hey ho!

Good luck! x

beckybabyx · 10/09/2021 10:51

I know I wanted to DTD yesterday because I just felt the static smiley was coming and DP was too tired.
Thanks everyone x

I conceived quickly at the ripe old age of 40 & 42, three times using Clear Blue opks. Sadly only one of the pregnancies stuck, but they definitely worked well for me.

I actually took part in a study for Clear Blue and had to send off many many pots of wee and keep a dtd 'diary' for ages, which was, um, fun!?

beckybabyx · 12/09/2021 13:51

Now the 2ww! It’s horrible waiting isn’t it xx

OP posts:
kmbegs · 12/09/2021 16:40

@beckybabyx the two week wait is the worst - good luck to you x

beckybabyx · 14/09/2021 12:53

Did anyone experience any symptoms before bfp?

OP posts:
feliznavidad2 · 14/09/2021 21:54

Using this to monitor ovulation for the first time this month - is it sad to admit I'm a bit excited? 🙈

beckybabyx · 14/09/2021 22:20

@feliznavidad2 no it’s very exciting!!! Fingers crossed for you x

How early DPO did any of you experience symptoms? If any? xx

OP posts:
Amz6219 · 16/09/2021 11:02

I didn't have symptoms per se because it was exactly the same as PMS for me - cramps, bloating, moodiness etc.

Slight difference being implantation bleed at 7dpo with first pregnancy, wave of nausea at 9dpo with second pregnancy and crazy vivid dreams with all

Trinacham · 16/09/2021 11:24

Fell pregnant first time trying and I was using these. As it was our first month, no idea whether I would have caught straight away without them anyway though.

beckybabyx · 16/09/2021 14:31

Hi all, I am 5/6 dpo today and just been the toilet and was a small bit of something in my pants (got black pants on so couldn't really tell what colour) so I've wiped it and its a tiny bit of brown blood (sorry TMI Blush) and same when I wiped. Only a tiny bit, is it too early for implantation? What are your thoughts? xx

OP posts:
Amz6219 · 16/09/2021 17:21

I'd say it sounds promising for implantation bleed

Mine with my son was 7dpo and was a bit of red rather than brown but I know there can be all sorts (from reading at the time!)

beckybabyx · 18/09/2021 14:31

@Amz6219 I’ve just spotted again today (cd21 7dpo confirmed) hoping it’s not an early period like a few cycles ago. But could it be an early period if I had LH surge 7 days ago? Confused xx

OP posts:
feliznavidad2 · 20/09/2021 06:31

@beckybabyx it's cycle day 12 and I've got my first flashing smiley. 😃 Now not to umm peak too soon.

Whysitsohard91 · 20/09/2021 06:57

These tests are the best - I have really long irregular cycles and found weeks of temperature testing / trying to interpret cheap opks really strsssful. This is a single test first thing with a very obvious reading, plus it’s great knowing when you’re in the run up to static smiley! Good luck xx

beckybabyx · 20/09/2021 08:33

Ooh how exciting @feliznavidad2, I’m CD 9 today, the wait is killing me xx

OP posts:
feliznavidad2 · 21/09/2021 06:58

Gone straight to a static face today. 😬

beckybabyx · 21/09/2021 09:28

Ooh @feliznavidad2 BD time Grin xx

Hi all wondering if u can join!
I'm not using CB but some cheapie OPK for first time..
Had two faint lines yesterday and today.. So classing it as negative. But going to DTD this week anyway..
I'm CD 10.. Last cycle was 24 days so its predicted Saturday as peak on my app. But got CM starting more today too! X
