I feel like this question has probably been asked a million times but I couldn't find on searching - with the First Response (normal, not early results) tests, if there is a very faint line (and it's clearer when you put your phone light behind it) does that mean it's a positive? Or is there always a slight faint line there anyway when it's by the light? (And I'm talking about in the immediate window after using it not hours later.)

I have 2 kids but have been feeling v nauseous for a week and concerned about an unplanned 3rd...! AF due Saturday so was still a bit early to test.

I think a lot of the time you can see a line even before you use it if you're holding a light source behind it. If you have an unused test you can try and see what I mean and check if it looks the same. I would only go by a line you can see without holding it up to light.

@shannonlt I just did this with an unused one and didn't see any lines so now I'm more panicked haha

I'm absolutely scared to death its a Sunday morning and no where for me to and get a new test for hours I've not even slept! I have 2 beautiful children already and was told any further pregnancy would end up a ectopic.... I've not been feeling well for a couple days and automatically thought it must be covid. Any way done 3 xlear and simple test straps and I'm getting the same faint(could even miss) lines I have a picture of 2 hubby throw other away. Driving my self crazy Amy one else had this and it turned out to be a false result?
