Have I ovulated? BBT chart

Hi, first month temping and up until now because of my long cycles I thought I didn't ovulate. I do OPKs but read that you can have a positibe OPK but not ovulate.. Please can someone look at my chart and advise me do they think my rise in temp shows I've ovulated please? (I know FF says I have but just wondered if maybe my inconsistent temping this month means I might have made things inaccurate. TIA x

Long time BBT charter here - that looks like a very clear and positive ovulation to me.

You've got a great temp rise/obvious temp shift and it aligns with the positive OPK which is great.

@JScarlett no that's just a tiny dip - it'll be normal to have some fluctuations during the luteal phase ☺️. Nothing to worry about!

Just a heads up that it's common to have a BIG dip one day around 6-9dpo (although not everyone gets them). People either get worried there's something wrong or get super excited thinking it's an implantation dip (technically there's no such thing!), but in reality it's due to a second oestrogen surge that's common at that point. Just letting you know so you don't worry then either!

@JScarlett no worries! It's unlikely to rise and rise btw - it tends to plateau a bit. Some people have it rising 7dpo ish onwards which could be a good sign but likewise could mean nothing. LP temps are really only good to confirm ovulation and perhaps to get a heads up that AF is coming on the day (lots have a dip down below the coverline that day so know to expect it). But it's best to sort of ignore it otherwise!

Heres an update on my chart from today. Was quite disheartened to see a drop this morning again. My luteal phase is around 15 days so I think it is 5 days before AF is due. Do you think I'm out this month based on your experience?

@JScarlett no I wouldn't discount anything. BFP/BFN temps in the luteal phase can be anything really - I've seen low temps with BFPs and sky high temps with BFNs. I think the general consensus is that temping is good to confirm ovulation with, but after that point it's all a toss up and there's no need to temp past 3dpo really (although I always do cause I'm a data lover) and always secretly hope I'll spot something.

So I'm saying to please keep faith and ignore the temps for now :)

I think its the big jump up I got 7dpo then the lower temps ever since that is making me think this months not my month.. but I guess its just a waiting game. What will be will be. Thanks again x
