You would think by now after 4 children I would be somewhat of an expert in ttc by now but instead I'm massively confused and frustrated. I usually ovulate on cd22 with positive opks on cd21 but here I am with nothing but negatives, I had a darkish line yesterday morning and the evening of cd18 but all the rest have been almost invisible test lines. I started EPO and womens vitamins on cd1 but I can't see them affecting ovulation so the only thing I can think of is the minor surgery I had on cd15, spinal block to remove large groin abscess, could that have delayed ovulation?

Or have I had a really short surge and missed it? I had only a few hours surge a few cycles ago, could it have been yesterday morning when I got the darkish test line, maybe I caught the surge on the way down and it happened through the night. I have had days of watery cm and ewcm on 2 occasions in the last week with the latest being cd17 also last night around 9.30pm I had some very sharp stabbing pains around my left ovary that lasted a few minutes. So confused right now 😭

Any meds you would have been on for the surgery (especially if under GA) could definitely be delaying ovulation. So don't despair, just plod along and it will pop up soon enough!

EPO won't have any effect on ovulation but you must stop it once ovulation has happened as it is contraindicated in early pregnancy. This was what we were told by our fertility consultant.

If you've had surgery recently there will definitely be some response from your body which may delay ovulation. I would suggest stopping OPKs this month and start once your body has settled down.

I only have a few opks left so once they run out I don't plan on getting anymore. I had a spinal block instead of a general and only had 1 dose of IV antibiotics, currently on no meds whatsoever. I plan on stopping the EPO when I run out of opks anyway just in case O has already happened. Just at a complete loss as to why I've gone from being very regular to seemingly not O'ing at all now 😔

Despite it being a spinal block and only 1 does of antibiotics - your body will have a stress response. Don't stress anymore, have fun and see what happens this month and start the new month afresh.

Thank you, suppose I'm not helping by adding more stress on top stressing about not ovulating yet x
