Hi, husband and I are starting donor egg IVF at IB in Alicante in January. Does anyone have experience of doing the GCT (genetic comparability testing) and how did you decide whether to do it (or not do it). We had an appointment with them last month and the doctor didn't really give us a huge amount of information when we asked about it. We've since been e mailed some information but it's a lot to digest. There are 2 levels of testing/pricing too. Guess I'm just looking for some feedback/considerations to help with the decision making process. Thanks in advance

Hi… just wondering how you are getting on with IB. Had my consultation last year by Skype and decided to wait to see if things calmed down with covid 😢!

We are due to go to Alicante for our initial tests… looking to book flights for Feb / March.

What do you want to know? I've had a few visits there, done all relevant tests and about to start mock cycle any day. I've been very impressed with them so far, especially vs. the UK clinics I've dealt with

So far I booked a online doctors appointment and sent all papers. All my journals and all my previous treatments. Done 3 IVF at home with various result but no live birth. I decided to look on going abroad since I just turned 40 and here you are not able to do as many test and medication/hormon treatments as I see option abroad. What package are you at, any garantee package or?

I've done 2 IVF in UK (with my own eggs). I'm doing the cycle at IB with donor eggs, not doing the guarantee program, just paying for one cycle in the first instance.

Ok, how has it been getting feedback from them. I do not know with my contact person the level of english is perhaps poor. I get replied about half my questions. In another clinic I looked at they are doing a trial cycle in between retrival and transfer to find the best optimized window for when it would be best to insert an embryo or blastocyst. How is it managed for you? It should not be difference if it is with your own or donor eggs I assume.

Feedback has been fairly quick, most of the time. Our patient liason contact changed, the 2nd lady does respond faster than the first lady. Questions are usually answered, and if their info is not clear, I just ask them to clarify or I ask the question again. As I understand it, my mock cycle is to see how I respond to the medication - I've got a scan on day 12 to check uterine thickness. If that's not as expected, I think they change the medication dose on the actual cycle (next month). We are using my husband's frozen sperm (he left a sample in August when we last visited). I've been given a rough/estimated window for the embryo transfer date which is late April/early May. I will travel there myself for transfer (or with a friend) as husband can't get time off work then. I will have a better understanding as the mock cycle progresses but it's been fairly straightforward so far. I've arranged a provisional scan with a local private scan company for day 12 (this date may be changed based on advise from clinic).
I would say if you're not getting the answers you need, just send another e mail or call them.

That is what I have been talking with aswell during my conversation with another clinic, but that one is located in Eastern europe, not going to risk either us or finacially going there at the moment. It is something I newer got to do with my old IVF clinic 3 trials when it was paid by the state. In my ears it sounds good to do a traning session before to see! I also look forward to beeing not awake during the transfer. 2 out of 3 it hurt, last time I told them of after, I think that doctor was not careful enough, you can not stress that treatment to get the eggs.. I have a appointment with the clinic in Mallorca online. I have actually newer been there although it is a tourist destination, but heard it is really nice. I got as far now so I have recieved a personal patient coordinator, multibilangual its seems like so I hope things will be more easy. Exiting not to far away for you then.

Apparently I have a Arcuate Uterous. It means that it is needed more skill and precission when you pla ce the embryo. Anyone else that have the same problem?

Today I had my first meeting with IB in Mallorca.
I will get to know if they except us for the garantee program this week like it sounds. How did you others do did you have a payment plan where you paid them off monthly or?

Hello sorted out the CD138, can be made same time as eggcollection.
Next step is us going to Alicante next week fir fish and tunel dna fragmentation test on the sperm 😃
