Does anyone know of the best IVF clinic in UK. We are quite desperate as I'm 45 and my partner is 60. We are prepared to pay anything for the next cycle. We tried 3 times with CRGH but were unsuccessful.

We live in Leeds and it would be great to find someone here but even if we have to travel we don't mind.
Please help

EveryMumDay · 01/09/2021 22:32

Hi @lukicana1.

TTC is like a crazy mad rollacoster ride.

I live London and we recently joined a private clinic in June 2021. So far, been amazing especially our consultant, she's lovely.

Details are below:
Beaconsfield clinic: thebeaconsfieldclinic.co.uk/

Our consultant (I highly recommend): Dr Lynne Chapman: lcrh.co.uk/

Any other questions, please let me know and wish you all the best too :)

Hi!

Thank you so much for all the details. That’s very kind. I’ll definitely check them out and perhaps give them a try…
Thank you again and all the very best x

Yorkshire Fertility in Halifax they are amazing and cheaper than most I currently have a 1 and a half year old thanks to them and just waiting for a frozen embryo transfer for baby no 2 xx

lukicana1 · 02/09/2021 20:49

Wow thank you for letting me know. Halifax is quite close to us so we might give it a try…

I haven't been here and have no experience of this clinic but from what I can gather they have the best success rates in the UK, I heard of this clinic a lot when I was doing ivf a few years ago. It's the ARGC in London, I think their success rates are almost twice the national average, from what I gathered on the fertility boards its like IVF boot camp so I think you pay a lot more than you would to other clinics but if money and travel aren't huge issues it might be worth looking into. Good luck! Flowers

lukicana1 · 03/09/2021 07:55

Dear Saoirse82,

Thank you so much for your message. I was not aware of this clinic. We are pretty desperate at the moment so if the results are so promising it would be worth a try.

Thank you so much again, I really appreciate it!
Take care and all the best!

I went with argc as did my friend. I have very low amh and only 5 follicles. I was surprised they took me on - I think I represented a challenge to their good stats! They want fsh to be 10 or under so if higher they tend not to want to cycle you.
I found their monitoring intense ( daily and towards the end of the cycle up to twice a day) however, it enabled them to really tweak my meds to get the optimum position.
I got 2 embryos from first cycle , one tested normal and is on ice. I had another cycle but ovulated early and they switched to iui and now late second trimester 🤞
It is intense but as long as you’re prepared they get the results , which is all any of us want really. I found the staff lovely although they are mega busy there.
My friend has two babies via them also.
If you go on the HFEA website you can see stats for most clinics and your age etc to make an informed decision . Good luck !

Thank you so much for this. It makes me more inclined to give it a go and see what happens…. There must be a reason so many people are happy with them.

Thank you again and best of luck!! Xx

Also, you may want to join this conversation thread on fertility. Very lovely ladies here sharing their experience and emotions:

No worries and best of luck , you can always pm me if you have questions and happy to help

Botanica · 03/09/2021 20:58

Are you trying with your own eggs or donor?

As a fellow over 40 yr old I do not think changing the clinic will make a huge amount of difference if OE. It really is luck of the draw at this stage in life...

Are you PGS testing? You can pay extra for that and then only put back healthy embryos which will increase the chances of any single transfer being successful.

lukicana1 · 03/09/2021 21:01

Thank you!
Will definitely join in

Yes we had 2 blastocysts but both abnormal.
I still haven’t given up yet..
It is luck of the draw for sure but would like to know I’m with a good clinic as well…

@EveryMumDay I have just been googling Lynne Chapman and your post on here came up! I was just wondering how you have got on with her? I have already had 2 cycles at another clinic which ended in miscarriages, so looking at new clinics and someone mentioned her. Also which clinic are you seeing her at? Thank you so much!
UsernameIsNotAvailableRightNow · 01/04/2022 16:51

We've done IVF at both Leeds and Bradford and been successful both times. Bradford have stopped offering it now I think but Leeds still do. We're about to start a frozen cycle soon.

UsernameIsNotAvailableRightNow · 01/04/2022 16:54

Oh, old thread.

EveryMumDay · 01/04/2022 17:05

@Pinkfluff38, as mentioned in the post, was with Dr Lynne Chapman at Beaconsfield clinic for medication cycle then IVF cycle 1. Medication cycle ended in MMC and IVF cycle 1, only 1 egg collected that didn't survive day 6. I conceived naturally after IVF cycle 1 so didn't have to go through IVF cycle 2. During my week 5 to week 12 pregnancy, I had appointments with Dr Lynne Chapman on every 3 weeks scans then stopped when NHS took over. Like I say to everyone, she's amazing and can't go wrong with her......she's a woman of science facts and takes great care of her clients. She put my mind at rest, as I wasn't in a good place and her explaining how my and my husband's body work was just brilliant. I would recommend booking on a consultation meeting with her to see if she would fit your requirements. Good luck.

EveryMumDay · 01/04/2022 17:08

P.s. When we were looking for private gynaecologist, we didn't find much reviews on Dr Lynne Chapman. Hence, when I was in her care, I posted quite a bit about her on Mumsnet, so other couples can see the reviews and decide from there to approach or not. For me, she was a blessing Smile

Eggfreezer · 06/07/2022 13:43

Hi @EveryMumDay , I have sent you a PM about Dr Lynne Chapman. I hope you don't mind.

Eggfreezer · 06/07/2022 13:44

@Pinkfluff38 did you end up using Lynne Chapman? Would you recommend?

Paris14eme · 06/07/2022 13:46

ARGC in London. Good luck.

Msmith100 · 26/10/2023 16:04

@Pinkfluff38 - wondered too if you did use Lynne Chapman?

Sara01112323 · 01/11/2023 19:52

I don't usually post, but having seen the clinic's name mentioned here I don't want any other woman to go through the deep physical, emotional and financial distress that Lynne Chapman's clinic (LCRH) has caused me.

During my treatment LCRH twice prescribed me the wrong medication which significantly and negatively affected the chances of a successful egg freezing cycle, and when I raised my concerns about this they stopped answering my calls and emails, but kept the £10k plus that I had paid.

In addition, when LCRH's failures in my treatment started to have a significant impact on my health, the clinic put an individual with no medical qualifications, Chris Chapman, in charge of resolving my concerns and left me completely medically unsupported, and in pain.

While I appreciate that other patients have had good results with Lynne Chapman in the past, the clinic does seem to be in a period of disarray: during my treatment they moved premises at least three times, appointments were routinely rescheduled at the last minute, and calls, texts and emails mostly go unanswered.

I have of course made the HFEA aware of my experience, but that process is slow and in the meantime - like I said - I don't want any other woman to go through what I have done. Fertility treatment is hard at the best of times, but should also be a wonderfully empowering experience. However it is experiences like mine that make women think it is just a money-making exercise by poorly supervised clinics.

Please think carefully before undertaking any treatment with Lynne Chapman.
