We are onto cycle 11 of TTC baby 1
Both of us are 30 and so far all tests etc have been fine and we are doing everything we can to be successful but not even a hint of a bfp and I'm struggling. Are there any positive stories out there of people conceiving in 10-14 months...I've heard lots of less than 6 and several like 2 years + successes but that seems so far away :-(

I bd every three days before I ovulated and the day I ovulated. I used pre seed as well.

Yeah that's what we've been aiming for and sometimes have managed more but still no joy :-(

We went for a fertility check up after 12 months of trying and were told my tubes were buggered from previous EMCS. Told our only chance of conceiving without another ectopic (of which I had had six months prior) was IVF. Paid £5.5k for IVF and got my BFP about a week later, without IVF!

It does happen! The waiting and worrying is horrible. I hope it happens tor you soon.

You are approaching the 1 year mark, so you will be able to ask you gp to refer you for fertility checks and possibly to a fertility clinic. Hang in there and fingers crossed you wont hit the 1year mark.

It took 15 months for my first (we wasn't trying) was told I'd probably need IVF so was a huge yet lovely shock. Then it took 12 painfully long, torturous months for my 2nd pregnancy which sadly ended in miscarriage at 12 weeks. I'm still trying 11 months later. The waiting and the unknown is the worst. I totally sympathise with how drained it makes you feel. I'd give it another month and then maybe get to the doctors just for some initial checks! But don't lose hope, you will get your happy ever after.
Every period is another step closer to getting your BFP! Good Luck!

Thanks everyone.
We paid for some basic blood tests for me and I know my FSH, LH, AMH and oestrogen are all good. Having a day 21 progesterone one done this cycle. My cycles are regular at 26-29 days although usually 28 and I always get an LH surge on day 14-16 so I'm hoping that nothings wrong and I just need to be patient. It's just so hard!

I had two lots of failed IVF after a year or so of trying (the NHS was a bit more flush and had surplus funding so we were offered it quite soon). I have PCOS and DH supposedly low motility. We conceived naturally twice after - I found that losing a bit of excess weight and working very hard on my fitness seemed to do the trick. Since then my cycles have become much more regular even though I've gained weight again.

tryingforbabyh · 29/08/2021 23:00

Yeah that's probably my one thing to work on I'm fairly active and am now upping (or trying to up) the exercise levels even more as I could probably do with being at least a stone-a stone and a half lighter to be at the best weight for my height

We hadn't used contraception for just over a year when I got pregnant with ds, I had lost two very early at 5/6 weeks & we had just been referred to fertility services as I had pcos when I found out I was pregnant with him.

I would have a scan and other internal checks to make sure everything looks ok. It’s great or your bloods are good but it might be something internal stopping you.
Also, I would get your dps sperm tested as often the issue lies there.

Sorry posted too soon , also take the vitamins in it starts with egg you and dp as it helps egg and speak quality.
I don’t know your age but my two friends were perfect in their fertility checks and needed ivf , it was a bit of enigma why, they both have children now on first attempt.
Iui might also be an option depending on your age ( less successful as you get past mid 30s although worked for me at 41)

Queenofsupreme · 30/08/2021 11:21

Sorry you are both 30 so you have time x

We conceived my DS on cycle 13. I know people say it a lot but honestly the month I stopped tracking and obsessing over it was the month it happened. We were on holiday, both drinking a lot, and only DTD when we felt like it rather than to conceive. We were both 31 then as well. I know it feels like a long time but keep going, it is worth it.
