Have I ovulated?

I’ve been taking the clear blue digital ovulation tests (the one that syncs with your mobile) I usually ovulate like clockwork but this month I haven’t had my solid smiley peak, only flashy smiley for 9 days straight. However on the day that I usually ovulate, when I took it out to read the lines, it was two really dark solid lines! Im very confused. Also to add more into the mix… I usually have really sore boobs the day after I ovulate and have a pain in my left side. I haven’t had any boob pain at all this month, however I have had mild cramping in my lower abdomen (like very very mild period cramps) a few days ago.

I have been trying to conceive for 9 months now and had a chemical pregnancy last March so I’m just confused and tired now.

Anybody been in a similar situation? Confused

@Amy1010101 not 100% sure as I use the clear blue fertility monitor, but I think the sticks are kinda similar - and they always have two lines. I can't read them without the monitor, I tried but it's impossible.
That being said, did you do anything different this month that could delay your ovulation? New vitamins, being sick, having the covid jab - anything like that?

Amy1010101 · 27/08/2021 10:35

Nope, nothing different this month. Maybe I didn’t ovulate. I think I’m going to pack in the ovulation sticks as I think it’s driving me crazy!

Have you tried temperature tracking? Bs k she. I was TTC DD1, after a year of nothing (I had endometriosis) I started temp & cervical position tracking. It was so insightful! Highly recommended. You do need a proper BBT thermometer however & be able to pop it in your mouth before you have even moved out of bed each morning. Xx

Weird! I mean yes, having a cycle without ovulation can happen and is nothing to worry about, but I feel like things like that NEVER happens when you're not TTC. It's like our bodies develop some strange case of stage fright and don't know how to work properly anymore.
How many days off are you now?

Amy1010101 · 27/08/2021 10:45

I do have a thermometer so I could start doing it that way! I was supposed to ovulate on the 23rd this month but it’s still showing a flashy smiley. Very unusual. The problem is is that I symptom spot, and the fact that this is the first time I haven’t had any symptoms could be a sign? I wasn’t really tracking my symptoms when I fell pregnant in March so I can’t remember what it felt like then, only it took me by surprise.

Well you can also do a pregnancy test to rule that out? I'm actually having a really weird cycle as well, my AF was really "off" - can't really describe it, it was just different. And I'm having so many pregnancy symptoms like my taste is different, some smells make me gag and I feel sick a lot. It took 3 BFN before I really believed it :)
If I were you I would continue with the ovulation sticks for another couple of days. Sometimes it's just a week later, we're not machines after all. But bbt is also a good idea.

Fingers crossed for both of us this time! Is this your ttc 1? One of my major symptoms when I fell pregnant with my chemical (which I didn’t realise was a symptom) was heart burn. So I’ll look out for that this time.

Yes, it is. I had a chemical in February and I had basically no symptoms, only usual cramping, although earlier than usual. And then I had sadly an ectopic in June, same thing - each month I had symptoms I had a BFN :)

I’m so sorry to hear :( It’s frustrating isn’t it? Each month is a disappointment. I’ve also entered my 30’s so I’m putting more pressure on myself and feeling like I’ve failed. I’m naturally super impatient so this is driving me crazy. I’m hopeful because we did have a chemical last March.. so technically things may still be alright down there. But it’s hard not to feel deflated. Stupid bodies, making us feel stupid things.

@Amy1010101 don't stress yourself too much. I know it's easier said than done, but as you said, chemical is not a bad sign. My OB/GYN I spoke to when I had my chemical was very lovely. She said the chances of getting pregnant (successfully) after a pregnany are quite high in the following months. She said even though there is no clear explanation as to what causes a pregnancy, she's pretty sure it's because of chromosome abnormalities which is then a good sign if the body will "reject" the fertilised egg. Therefore everything works exactly as it should.

You’re not going to believe this but I just got my solid smiley face. Bodies are strange!

Ah great!! So happy for you - and now off you go to cover all bases ;) fingees crossed!
If my cycle is normal, my ovulation should be in two days, so we can keep each other company in the 2ww
