Ovulation Pain

Has anyone experienced ovulation pain before? What is it like?/Where do you feel it?

I've had a mild cramping pain lower down at one side since yesterday, it could be anything but it's not something I've felt before and it is around that time of the month when I'm due to ovulate.

I’ve never had it but it’s called Mittelschmerz which I think is a brilliant name.

WJK00 · 26/08/2021 08:18

Yes me! I get it most months. Can last from a few hours to a couple of days Smile

@WJK00 thank you, so there's a possibility it could be that then. I'm waiting for some ovulation tests to arrive so I can track things better because at the moment I'm just using an app on my phone.

For me it was either a stabbing pain suddenly on one side or a dull ache on the ovulating side. I didn’t always get it though

Notashandyta · 26/08/2021 09:13

Mine is excruciating agony for about ten minutes just before I ovulate.

Only started in my early forties. No idea why

Yeah they are a good indication. I used to get it before I tracked my cycle and never knew what it was. Once I started using the ovulation strips it always matched up Grin

They have arrived, so I took one at 10.30am this morning.

Anyone help with my result in the photo? 🤭

So the second line needs to be as dark as the first line or darker. Once you get a darker second line ovulation should occur around 12-36 hrs after x

Queenofsupreme · 26/08/2021 11:59

Is that an opk ? It’s not positive yet. The line should be same or darker than control. Keep taking them. I used to take twice a day when they started darkening to avoid missing peak . I found a good app was premom - you can upload the opks and gives you an indication of whether it’s low/high/peak . Try and take pics in the same light every day.

allthingssparkly · 26/08/2021 12:13

@WJK00 & @Queenofsupreme

It is an OPK, thank you for your advice.

Should I test again later today?

Could I have already ovulated? I have only started using there tests, but I will continue.

AF last month was 12th - 15th August. My cycles are anywhere between 28-32 days long.

Thanks 😊

AF this month

@Queenofsupreme I have downloaded the Premom app this morning and I put my details in and according to that I ovulated 2 days ago 🤷‍♀️

It’s only going on a typical 28 day cycle and that you ovulate day 14/15.
I meant use the opk section to upload your opks and see what it rates them e.g high, peak. Once you get a peak and can see they turn light afterwards you will know which day you likely ovulated. You can then put that information into premom and it should change your date of ovulation. I actually used premom for the opks and fertility friend for the charting of when I ovulated and was due af or bfp. It may be confusing to use two though!

Queenofsupreme · 27/08/2021 12:57

You could have already ovulated with your dates, it’s still worth testing though in case you haven’t. Did you dtd this week and last?
