Grab your seats on the September bus (though I know there are a few of us still testing in August).

Absolutely everyone welcome - I'll attempt a list of tags for "reserved seats" but am guaranteed to have missed quite a few:

Hi guys

Got a clearblue flashing smiley, my app predicted I wouldn't ovulate until CD18 and its CD9 - so its well out. Did a LH aswell as know clearblue test for 2 hormones and there was a line there as well, but not a true positive.

So maybe I will ovulate much earlier this month? I find it so hard to catch it each month.

What are other people experiences with clearblue do your flashing smilies come straight away or take a while start. I've had a flashing on the 2nd day of testing which happened last month as well.

DH also has a sore you know what from DTD too much as we're on holiday so it's not good timing. Really I'd like to just DTD every day or other day but that might not be able to happen now

hoola23 · 27/08/2021 10:43

Hey @ViL89 I bought the cb fertility monitor to try this month as had to start testing in cd6 which gave me high fertility straight away so started DTD then every other day. High lasted all the way until I got my peak on cd14 though!! Also backed this up with cheap opk just to make sure! Too exhausted to DTD the second day of the peak which I think is when I actually ovulated as I had some pain on the right side so feel like I'm out this month alreadyConfused we will do it again tonight just for good luck but think I'm closed for this fertile period this month! I've stocked up on opk already for next month as I'm not feeling positive now!

purpleskyssssss · 27/08/2021 13:45

Hi @ViL89 I always get a flashy smiley early on and it goes on and on and on for a good amount of days until I see the static! Seems like so much longer when waiting aswell

I also always find I get my static and then the next day will get my true peak on my cheap easy at home ovulation test. I have before DTD as soon as I saw the flashy as @hoola23 and I find by the time I actually ovulated I'm exhausted and everything feels too forced, that's why I prefer the easy and home because I tend to get a steady rise so can work it out better, but that's just me.

Good luck with DTD over this next week or so 😃

Bundaberg84 · 27/08/2021 13:53

I never had a low or anything below high on the cb fertility monitor. The high phase will last around 10 days for me, that's why I don't really pay attention to it for the first week of it, as my app will say this is the "medium" phase. I can imagine the clear blue sticks will be the same?

ViL89 · 27/08/2021 14:35

@hoola23 and @purpleskyssssss

Thanks so much kind of annoying from clearblue as they are so expensive in comparison

I'm also using the cheaper OPKs there was defo a line but it wasn't as dark or darker so dont think it's that close bit will see

Thank you

hoola23 · 27/08/2021 14:56

@purpleskyssssss you're right on the exhaustion thing! I used to just DTD when my cheap opk started rising but 8 cycles later were still trying so thought I'd switch it up this month!

MrsM29 · 27/08/2021 19:10

Jumping on the bus for September if that's okay. AF due in 4/5 days then looking at starting to try for baby number 2.Smile

MrsBB23 · 27/08/2021 19:38

Mind if I hop on?! 1st month ttc baby #1 - ovulation tomorrow so have been BDing all week, it’s beginning to feel a bit mechanical and ‘staged’ at this point! Have been tracking my temperature & doing LH tests so hopeful I’ve got it right. Really hoping for lots of lines on tests for everyone in September 😊

MissM94 · 27/08/2021 21:49

Hey ladies, just a quick one.. if my ovulation was on Tuesday and I DTD Monday & Wednesday would that of covered it or am I out already? 😩 it's supposed to be tomorrow when I normally would ovulate but had a positive OPK and intense pains on Tuesday and my OPK's now have the faintest second line so think it deffo happened on Tuesday

Sperm can survive up to 4 days so you're covered
MissM94 · 27/08/2021 22:17

@BritInNZ fab!! Thank you

Emz861 · 27/08/2021 22:20

Hi everyone 👋 just jumping aboard if that's ok. Currently waiting for AF so we can start a cycle with OPKs as I'm pretty sure I'm not pregnant this cycle. Vaccine has messed them up a bit I think and I wasnt all that regular before so kind of just wishing for AF so this cycle isn't too long... currently day 39 🙈 haven't tested but no symptoms so just a waiting game to start again!

Dr04 · 27/08/2021 23:44

Would like to jump on the bus too. Ttc #1 cycle 1, started using opks and still trying to figure them out. Periods are usually between 23 -27 days apart. Add to it, DH has delayed ejaculation so not very hopeful at all!

SkaterChick · 28/08/2021 07:55

Hey everyone, hopping on the sept bus as I'm out for August 😭
Last month was a weird one, I had ovulation symptoms on cycle day 7 just after my period finished so I got out the opks (first month using them), I got no line on CD7, faint line cd8, stronger but still faint cd9 and no line every day after (continue testing for a week)
DTD every other day from CD 7 onwards to make sure we were covered
I got some spotting on CD20 and had been feeling nauseous, I was hanging on till CD23 when my app said to test.
Cd21 and the heaviest period of my life has shown up 😭

I'm uncertain on whether or not to try this month as I'm due to be away next June 3rd-15th, it's a once in a lifetime trip that was supposed to happen in 2020 but had been postponed.

Bundaberg84 · 28/08/2021 08:03

@SkaterChick funny, ai had a really weird cycle as well. My AF was as if someone turned on the water and then turned it off again after 6 days. No spotting, no fading out, and only bright red. Must have been the moon. (Not really but who knows lol)
As for your trip planned... Just keep in mind that a) it could be that you don't feel well throughout your pregnancy and don't want or you can't travel and b) who knows what next June is - everything is so uncertain right now.

SkaterChick · 28/08/2021 08:19

@Bundaberg84 how weird! I mean I kinda like the no fading in and out (those last few days are such a drag) but Jesus, I feel like crap with it this morning 😂

It's such a hard decision, if we get preggo next cycle I'd be due right as I'm due to go, but if we waited and the trip got postponed another year I'd be absolutely gutted I waited. I don't know if I can wait another 3 months before trying again so I'm no more than 6 months when we go, I'd hope a rough pregnancy wouldn't ruin it but no way can I wait until the trip is over to try. I've been trying for 8 months now and it's getting harder each time af shows up, she was late last month and I was crushed when the test was negative.

SkaterChick · 28/08/2021 08:20

Also to add there is no flying on the trip, it's a ferry to the destination and then it's an outdoor festivals style event but I am set with air BnB type accommodation!

WantStickyBean · 28/08/2021 08:38

Morning everyone! Welcome to the new joiners .

Sorry to hear you're out for August @SkaterChick. That does sound like a weird cycle, had you had a covid jab? I can see why you'd want to pause for a month if you've got a big trip booked.

I'm 10DPO, hate this time of my cycle because I start to really think I could be pregnant. Chart is still looking good, but it's also exactly the same as my previous few cycles so I know it means nothing. Good news is I seem to have finally gotten over the urge to test early!

Toot toot! The September bus is early...

SkaterChick · 28/08/2021 08:57

@WantStickyBean fingers crossed for you!
How do you find tracking your temp? I'm debating trying it this cycle, depends if I'll remember to at 5am though 😂
I had my second jab yesterday (already started spotting) so it might screw with my next cycle or two or something anyway.

LadyoftheWoods · 28/08/2021 09:22

@WantStickyBean oh yeah that does look promising! Well done for not testing early as well! I've sort of been temping but without a proper thermometer it's probably not much use! I'm going to order one for next month. Have you had any symptoms?

I caved and tested again this morning, 12dpo and bfn so pretty sure I'm out. It is month 1 of TTC though so I can't be too annoyed! Only 2 days till af so going to try really hard to hold out

Lucylulu1 · 28/08/2021 09:39

@WantStickyBean that looks like a good chart. Can I ask where you got your thermometer from? I'm looking online and I see mixed reviews. I found one on Amazon for £10 or £17. I'd like to start tracking, but don't want to buy the wrong BBT thermometer. Hope you don't mind me asking

Dobcaty · 28/08/2021 09:50

@WantStickyBean your chart looks amazing!

Looks like I'm going to jump this bus too, I couldn't resist longer so I tested this morning...bfn. I'm suppose to be on 12 dpo but the ff app changed after yesterday BBT to 14dpo so I thought its safe to test as I am not spotting this cycle, which is already a big improvement. This is going to be the 25th cycle, charting for 10 months, my best friend had her 3rd baby, I was really busy at work (not a single day off) so the last tww was easier then usually. AF due on Monday and I will call my clinic for the next appointment (2 natural IUI, third cancelled bc lh surge happened on the weekend) and we’ll see…

WantStickyBean · 28/08/2021 11:56

@SkaterChick I quite like temping - though I am a complete control freak! I like the physical confirmation that I've ovulated, and find seeing the temperature drop before AF a gentler way to realise I'm out than to just start bleeding.

@LadyoftheWoods I just bought a cheap thermometer from Amazon, think it was the Femometer one, pretty sure it was less than £10. No particular symptoms, but I didn't with my first pregnancy so I don't think it really tells me anything!

@Dobcaty I'm sorry you had a BFN Sad. Good that you've got some stuff in the pipeline, that sounds really tough.

Wish I could think that my chart looking good actually meant something - but I always seem to get a rise just before AF arrives, my last cycle's chart looked just the same

Toot toot! The September bus is early...

Hope you all don't mind if I join, I was a quiet follower on the last thread! Myself and partner have been TTC since January of this year. Due to ovulate tomorrow / Monday. I had been tracking temps the past few months but I just really needed a break from tracking and obsessing this month! Sending baby dust and best wishes to everyone. ❤️

Bundaberg84 · 28/08/2021 13:01

Hey @Taurus683 welcome! We started TTC in January as well, and my ovulation is due tomorrow as well. Hello cycle buddy :)
