Grab your seats on the September bus (though I know there are a few of us still testing in August).

Absolutely everyone welcome - I'll attempt a list of tags for "reserved seats" but am guaranteed to have missed quite a few:

Hi @Emily199034 - exciting, the first month TTC :)

It depends on when you want to test. For early testing, FRER are a good choice - even though they seem to have more evap lines than they used to, but they're still pretty reliable. Other than that, all tests with pink dye are better than the ones with blue dye, less evap lines.

If you want to wait out after AF is due, digital tests are really nice as they don't leave any room for speculation :)

Okay thank you, I'll order some FRER
EmsTTC · 26/08/2021 12:23

Hi @Bundaberg84 sounds like we've had similar bad luck with TTC in the first half of this year. It was definitely a positive decision to take a break MH wise. I don't know about you but TTC does slowly seem to consume my mind however busy I try and keep myself.

Sorry to hear you had an ectopic they sound like a very stressful thing to go through. Fingers crossed the second half of the year is our lucky half 🤞🏻🍀.

I've also recently had my second COVID jab and it hasn't seemed to have messed up my cycles other than I now get really sore boobs post ovulation until just before AF which I never had previously unless I was pregnant. I hope the jab doesn't cause any issues in your cycle.

How are you finding the CB fertility monitor? I considered buying it previously but got the CB connected ovulation monitor instead. I've almost run out of sticks for that so maybe I'll try the fertility monitor instead.

@Danani sounds as if we are in sync with our cycles as AF arrived this morning for me too. Will you be tracking ovulation?

Danani · 26/08/2021 12:27

Hey cycle sista @EmsTTC 🙋🏻‍♀️

I’m between two minds! Last month and the month before I used CB ovulation tests (the purple ones) and they matched up PERFECTLY with my Flo app prediction.
I’m headed on holiday from tomorrow so kind of was thinking to just rely on Flo and chill and go with the flow, but now I’m wondering whether to take them…

How about you?

Bundaberg84 · 26/08/2021 12:48

@Emily199034 better luck this time! Flowers
I love the monitor. It's so easy to use - even though it's quite expensive I think. In the instructions they say you shouldn't use a second hand monitor, but I don't see the reason why. The sticks aren't cheap, but you can also use the sticks from their other brand, they are a little less expensive. I think they're called persona? I also like that they already inculde pregnancy tests and will indicate when it's time to test.

Beowoulf · 26/08/2021 12:50

I'm starting my journey in September and hope it's OK to jump on board

Willow1982 · 26/08/2021 14:12

Hiya hoping it’s ok for me to join, been on the TTC buses since March, was pretty much a silent passenger on the August bus as on a bit of a downer with it all,
September will be the last chance before what would have been my due date in Oct of my MC in early March, so thinking I’ll be needing the support this month!
Not out the game for August just yet, 9DPO and cycle day 29 so well in the TWW, zero symptoms, but still fingers crossed,
And good luck to all in September too xx🍀

RAP08 · 26/08/2021 14:32

@Willow1982 hello! This is just my first 'bus' and first full month TTC. I welcome the wealth of experience you all have and all the support that comes with it! Fingers crossed for you this month x

ViL89 · 26/08/2021 15:53

@Willow1982 welcome back I remember 6ou from the Aug bus. Hopefully you're have a better month in sep I always find these groups super supportive whether I'm actively chatting or not, glad you feel the same best of luck for August and Sep xx

Quinn26 · 26/08/2021 16:00

Hi all, parking my bum on the Sept bus! Been TTC over a year now, unfortunately had a MMC and a chemical within that time. Really hoping for the sticky baby this month! Just waiting for my peak, had my flashing smile for 3 days now although I've got a feeling it may appear Saturday when I'm away on a hen do for the night! So hoping to get it tomorrow or Sunday! Baby dust to you all this month x

WantStickyBean · 26/08/2021 16:38

@Bundaberg84 what does the monitor do differently to the advanced sticks? I had a look at them a while back but didn't really get what they added...

@Willow1982 sorry to hear about your MC, totally get the "time-out" thing, I've opted out of a couple of buses this year. It's lovely to have the company but I do get really obsessive and it's not particularly healthy.

I'm 8DPO and have been having cramps all afternoon. Pretty sure it's all in my head because I've just been sat at my desk all day and it's easy to imagine twinges. Though I could potentially be 10DPO, so it could also be AF on the way.

Hey all

I'm 1 week till AF woke up with the super sore boobs - so I tested early! As poas addicts do haha I used a cheapy form the coop because I didn't want to touch my Frer yet, needless to say I done it after I thought I seen a line in the cheapie - now I'm more confused! Surely the cheapie would show before a frer?????

Help a girl out haha

hoola23 · 26/08/2021 18:25

@ForGoodnessCake I can see the faintest line on the FRER actually! Try again in a couple of days but congrats, looks good to me!!

Capricorn8990 · 26/08/2021 20:24

@WantStickyBean thanks for arranging this! Xx

EmsTTC · 26/08/2021 20:58

@Danani so jealous you're off on holiday I hope you have a lovely time.

My ovulation tests and my app are never in sync lol if they were tho I don't think I'd bother with ovulations tests. I feel like being 'told' when to BD by an ovulation test kind of takes the fun out of the BD lol.

@ForGoodnessCake I feel like I can see a vvvf line on the FRER 💐. Maybe the FRER is more sensitive than the cheapie and that's why it's shown on the FRER first. I think FRERs are one of the most sensitive tests you can buy.

Missy95 · 26/08/2021 21:11

@ForGoodnessCake I can see something on the frer as well! Fingers crossed for you xx

Danani · 26/08/2021 22:11

@ForGoodnessCake FRER are notoriously THE most sensitive, I think they detect like 6 mIU/mL whereas others are usually 10, 20, 25 etc. I personally, cannot see a line, but I never ever do on pics so this is probably just me! Hope you do get your conclusive BFP in a few more days! X

@EmsTTC thank you my love! I cannot wait, and honestly I so need this for my mental health. August was rough, and I’m looking forward to the distraction! I probably will try to just enjoy and have fun and not overthink everything, so we’ll see if we get lucky this month 🍀
Re the tests, if your app info doesn’t match up with the tests, I’d go with the tests to be sure! I know I’m taking a bit of a risk this month not using them and just blindly relying on my app, but it has been spot on the past two months and so I really hope it won’t let me down! Also looking forward to some fun vacation vibes DTD!! Last cycle when I was obsessing over the days, it felt very…work-y 😬🙈

Good luck and baby dust to all this month! Here’s to September being OUR month!!!

Will check in in a couple of weeks with y’all! X

purpleskyssssss · 26/08/2021 22:44

Well gone to go to bed and AF is starting, I think I will be full flow tomorrow... so onto the September bus fully and month 11 ttc cycle 10.

My periods tend to range from 26-38 days and my last period started on the day of my best friends baby shower and today CD 31 it has came when my best friend is currently in hospital having her baby. I remember on the baby shower thinking I feel like if I don't get BFP, my AF will start on the day her baba is born, we both started 'trying' at the same time but she fell first month, just reminds me how long I feel I have been trying!crazy what the mind can do

I will say though I am super happy for her and can't wait for cuddles of the little one

Anyway I am feeling hopefully for September, I am going to start tracking again and DB is sending of his SA analysis tomorrow, which is positive 😃

northernlola · 26/08/2021 22:45

Hi can I join!! TTC number two, had our first in 2018. SMEP worked a charm for that one, wondering if we'll be so lucky again. AF due 13th Sept so just coming into my fertile window in the next few days. Time to get busy!

Speccybibliophile · 26/08/2021 22:57

Thank you for the tag @WantStickyBean. I have been very quiet recently as I was quite down, which sounds silly as I'm currently in second cycle ttc second child. It was such a long journey getting to the stage of starting ttc that it feels impossibly long. I need to find some better coping strategies if I'm going to survive any more disappointing cycles.

On a positive note, really pleased for all the lucky ladies with their lovely news! It's heartening to hear these success stories, some of you have been waiting for so long. Hats off to you for perseverance (hope that doesn't sound condescending, genuinely don't mean for it too)

Sunshinelollypops8 · 26/08/2021 22:57

Oh guys can you catch a day after ovulation?

I'm ovulating today, mucus change, ovulation pain and the ovulation stick said so too 😂.
So thought right tonight is the night and well my DD has been sick so no DTD tonight 😣 but was wondering am I completely out for this cycle now?

Someone more knowledgeable will hopefully along and reply to you soon.... I do think that the egg survives 12-24 hours. Not too sure about the ovulation stick as I've never used them, so you may have a bigger window than I've suggested.
Bundaberg84 · 26/08/2021 23:30

@WantStickyBean not really sure actually as I only ever used the monitor but for what I gather the monitor detects more fertile days and also compares the test sticks to the next and establishes a result based on that. And it's veey foolproof.

Nervousdave · 27/08/2021 00:06

I'm back on the bus again, cycle 3 for number 2.
Will be ovulating in the next week, AF due on the 10th Sept.

On a side note, AF has started on the 10th for the last 4 months in a row. Weird!

BritInNZ · 27/08/2021 00:23

5dpo on cycle 7 today - having figured out this month I ovulate four days later than I thought! Only figured it out from temping 😂

I often get cramps from doing intense exercise and this month it led to bleeding for four hours. So I've got an internal ultrasound in a couple of weeks to see if there's something wrong. Also got a private appointment with fertility specialist a few days after my birthday to go through bloods and SA (and probably another ultrasound!). Looking forward to September and getting some investigating/answers underway.
