ovulation after miscarriage - help!

Hi everyone, first time poster here!
I had a miscarriage about 4 weeks ago, it was my first pregnancy. I was waiting to have a period before my husband and I started trying again, but I took a pregnancy test and ovu test on tuesday to check my hormone had gone.
The pg was completely negative, but the ovu test was nearly positive. I ovu tested twice more than day and the tests got fainter, so I assumed I had ov'd at the weekend. I've taken another ovu test this morning (3 days later) and it's come back positive!

Can ovu tests be unreliable after miscarriage even if there is no hcg hormone left? I'm not saying we are going to immediately try again, but it would be nice to know when I can expect my period and if I am ovulating, as being out of control of my body is hell! Has anyone experienced anything similar?
TIA!!

@anoki - so sorry for your loss. give yourself time to grieve and recover.

I was obsessively trying to get pregnant after my mc in March. I think the first cycle might be bit strange, it was for me. I started taking basal body temperature (BBT) every morning which helped to understand my cycle better. also just being aware of what's going on makes me feel more in control. sorry I'm not being very helpful but just give yourself some time and be kind to yourself Flowers

Thanks so much @MiamiBeach104 and I'm so sorry for your loss too. It's odd isn't it, I'm not trying to get pg straight away but there's a feeling of missed opportunity.. my sister is giving birth within the next week and my best friend just told me she's expecting, so it's very tough to cast the thought aside!! Thank you, keep well x
