Any Ovusense users?

Hi, are there any Ovusense users?

Cycle #1 using Ovusense (although Cycle #8 of TTC) and just missed ovulation as temps had already risen. Am wondering if:

  • there are any success stories?
  • anyone using Ovusense less than 12 months and not yet successful?
  • anyone using Ovusense more than 12 months and not yet successful?

I'm TTC #2 and due to my age wanted to pinpoint ovulation and give it a proper go.

Would like to use this thread to compare tips, e.g. those who succeeded did you DTD every day? or every other day during fertile period?

Hi @birdbybird I used it a couple of years ago. I found it excellent. I couldn’t get on with using a thermometer every day and ovusense took the hassle out of it and I could finally pinpoint my ovulation accurately. I still used opks to double check.
I got pregnant after one cycle, unfortunately mc but it showed it worked. I then didn’t use it as went ivf route and found opks sufficient.
I dtd every day before Ov when I started getting highs, on the day and day after!
Swapping morning and evenings.

Hi @Littlemissnc I'm about to enter Cycle #2 .
So looking forward to seeing a proper temperature rise this time.

Do you have plans to TTC again?

I used it and conceived my first daughter using it. I really loved it for the convenience. I used to stress so much about the oral temperature taking. I used it alongside OPK test strips which I would take a few times a day leading up to ovulation and had sex every day of my fertile window I think.

birdbybird · 17/08/2021 20:24

@pigglepot I did the oral temperature taking when I had no children. It was simpler to set the alarm then. Now I worry about waking my son up, if he's not up already, so I've found it impossible to do.
How many cycles did it take you to conceive your daughter? Are you planning to use it again?

@birdbybird I actually can't remember sorry but it wasn't many I don't think- perhaps 4? It took me about 8 months in total to get pregnant the first time I think but that was with a mc in the middle and I wasn't using OS the whole time.

I'm currently very pregnant again (fell pregnant after one time this time and wasn't even trying!) so I'll have no need to use it again any time soon. I would have used it again though and would use it again in the future if we have another.

For me oral temperature taking was so stressful because I used to wake up before my alarm or go to the loo and then worry I hadn't been asleep for long enough to get an accurate reading or would wake up in the middle of the night, think it was getting up time and take my temperature even though it was only 2am or something 😂. Too much like hard work!

@pigglepot great to hear you didn't need it! I also conceived in Cycle 1 and Cycle 2 when TTC #2 but both were early losses sadly.
I have turned to ovusense after Cycle #7 as someone recommended it in another thread.

I think it's very helpful to help pinpoint ovulation and to reduce stress around temping (if you find it stressful). Also nice to feel you are "doing something" isn't it. I'm very sorry to hear about your losses. They are extremely tough. I know each day feels like a year when you're TTC but hang in there.

Hi @birdbybird, I used OvuSense this time while ttc number 4.

I had 3 children years ago then met my current partner.

We’d been ttc for over 12 months and had several miscarriages along the way.

I was never 100% sure when I was ovulating as my cycles weren’t all that regular and often I’d miss picking it up on opk’s.

I knew with my awful sleeping habits and being up in the night to use the toilet etc I’d be hopeless at tracking bbt the usual way so I finally decided to invest in OvuSense and I -am so glad I did.

1st cycle using it, it successfully picked up ovulation and I got a bfp. Sadly I miscarried though.

Then on the 4th cycle using it I again got another bfp and I’m now currently 35 weeks pregnant!

We always dtd every day of the fertile window and a few days after.

I’d paid for a 12 month subscription and have never been happier to have wasted the money on the wasted subscription!

Good luck!

Thank you @Moominmiss . I came across one of your posts on another thread related to ovusense. And congratulations… you’re almost there!! xx

Hiya @birdbybird just wondered how you was getting on with the ovusense? Ive just bought one so wondered what you thought of it

birdbybird · 09/09/2021 11:02

Hi @girlmummy25 I’m in cycle 2 of using ovusense and have annoyingly been sick with a temperature during fertile week so ovusense wasn’t any use. I’m using it now until AF. How are you?

OP posts:
girlmummy25 · 09/09/2021 11:07

@birdbybird same! This is my 1st cycle using it but I have my covid vaccine yesterday which gave me a temperature and its now saying im ovulating but I know im not as im only cd10 and dont usually ovulated until around cd19. So annoying but im going to carry on using it

birdbybird · 09/09/2021 21:23

That's frustrating @girlmummy25 and makes it hard to pinpoint ovulation exactly. I tested today at what I think is 11 DPO today and it was a BFN. So I will probably be on to ovusense cycle #3 in a handful of days.

@birdbybird I just read that Ovusense can detect its a fever and not ovulation due to the quick high spike so hopefully it will correct itself. Although I drank alcohol saturday and im sure that made my reading higher too! All so annoying especially on the first month of using temping.

Oh no thats so rubbish! Sorry x
