Thrush and Prebiotics

Hey everyone

I am a thrush sufferer and find taking probiotics help (wellguard vitaflora) will this effect falling pregnant I can't find anything to say it would if anything looks like they encourage women to. My doctors are a nightmare to reach on the phone at the min

From what I gather prebiotic supplements are not regulated so there will be nothing to show whether it's safe or not to take when TTC or pregnant. As a result I suspect the GP would not feel comfortable enough to say you're okay to continue.

How bad does your thrush get? Is there any point in perhaps taking a strong course of fluconazole for a week to get try and stop it coming back (and pause TTC that cycle)? Do you adequately try and prevent it from recurring? I'm just thinking if you're struggling with it now it will be hell once pregnant as I think the hormonal changes means you'll be far more likely to get it but pretty much unable to treat it. The joys of womanhood!

I only get it once or twice a year however when TTC I get it more I mean I know it's common due to the ph balance etc. This morning I have found probiotics for pregnancy and when conceiving which is amazing so if they help I'll recommend to others!
