Very new to this - ovulation?

Hi all, I'm very new to this so need a bit of help.

Have started trying to track my ovulation, excuse the tmi but had ovulation type discharge on Thursday/Friday then literally no discharge at all yesterday. None. So bought some ovulation sticks, did one this morning with my first wee of the day and the line was clear - ovulating.

Then did another one two hours later (as I have become a bit obsessed with it all!) and had very very faint - if anything at all - line which is a no, not ovulating.

What are these ovulation sticks like? Which would be correct? Surely I can't be ovulating in the morning then suddenly not two hours later? I'm so confused!

We have been doing the deed regardless, just trying to get my head around the sticks. Any help greatly appreciated!

I'm quite new to this too and wrote a very similar post a bit further down! Took ole FMU which was so much darker than the one two hours later after morning coffee. Think the trick is to not use FMU and do a couple around a similar time every day. Good luck!

Ovulation sticks pick up your surge in hormones that indicate ovulation will happen. To use ovulation sticks, you need to use them a few days before you expect to ovulate. When the test line is the darkest out of the tests you do, you will count that as your peak. Ovulation follows 24-36 hrs after your peak. Some people can experience a surge very quickly, so yes it can be positive in the morning and the negative in the afternoon.

@CrazyCatLady75340 Thank you for the reply! I think I thought 'trying' would be easy but there's so many things to think about when working out ovulation that I find myself super confused 😂

Will try to check same time each day. Good luck to you too!!

@InTheNightWeWillWish Ah! Thank you! So really when you use them they're not predicting it's your ovulating day right at that moment but that it will happen in the next 24-36 hours?

I feel like a need to go back to school for all this 😂😂

No worries @Greenscrubs and thank you! I'm not actively trying yet as I wanted to work out what my body was doing and when after so long on birth control which messed with my cycle. Never thought I'd need a phd to get my head around it all!
