Hello,

I’m new here and I’ve been lurking for advice for a while, thought it was just best to post my own question!

Myself and my partner have just started trying to conceive and are in the first month of trying. I was on the mini pill for years, and came off a fews month ago. My cycle was just getting into some form of normality again after no periods on the pill.

Ovulation happened around 17 days ago and a few days ago I started bleeding for 3 days, as this was earlier than my period I wondered if it was implantation bleeding. As I’m 36 now I expected it to take a while before we got a positive result, but as I have been feeling different in myself this week we thought we would try a test. I just got a cheap test from Poundland as it still seems early to be testing to me and I didn’t want to fork out for an expensive one yet, there is a faint line there but I can’t tell if this means positive or not. This is the first pregnancy test I have ever done so I’m really not 100% sure of what I’m looking at, I have attached a photo I hope you can make this out, is this positive or too faint to tell?? I’m not sure if the bleeding meant I had been pregnant but I’m not now. I will need to test again in a week to make sure, I’ll make sure I buy a digital test next. Any advice is much appreciated Smile thank you

I can’t see a second line.
They’re not very sensitive tests though. Pink dye ones are the best (first response).

Thanks for your response, I will get some First Response tests next. I can see a faint line but not sure if I’m looking at it wrong or if the line is meant to be in a different place? We think we are going mad here! I’ve attached a different photo in case the first one wasn’t clear. This is all new to us Blush

I'm sorry I can't see a second line either, but sometimes when they are super light, they can't be picked up by a camera. 17dpo I would expect a clearer result, but I've never used those tests so can't compare. Fingers crossed for you, it's such an exciting and frustrating process this baby making business.

Sorry, I don't see anything either - are you meaning a line where the part with 'max' and the arrows has peeled away?

NoWordForFluffy · 12/08/2021 20:14

Where do you think the second line is? I'm usually amazing at spotting squinters, but I can't see a line on yours.

ShellUK09 · 12/08/2021 20:20

Yes the part where the max and arrows has peeled away, I now realise we jumped straight to the wrong conclusion! It’s definitely negative then. Know where to check next time. Thanks for all your help and we will keep going Smile feel a bit of a fool now but very glad I asked too!
