Finally got my solid smiley this morning for the first time! So excited! But my DH is away all day and isn't back till late this evening! I'm
Panicking that I've missed my window of opportunity, will it be ok if we still did when he gets home late tonight? We did yesterday morning so hoping we will be ok???

The egg doesn't disappear in a puff of smoke in a few hours OP. Wink Wink Try to stop worrying and be ready to pounce when DH gets back. You might already have conceived if you DTD last night. Good luck!

Thank you for the re assurance, yea I know im
Being silly thinking it will just disappear but have been trying for 7 months now and nothing yet. This month is the first time we're proper proper trying and the very first time I've ever seen a solid smiley rather than a flashing one! Im just course very keen. I want to make sure I don't miss any opportunity

You definitely still have a chance especially if you DTD yesterday (peak fertility is actually a day or 2 before ovulation and sperm can survive for 3-4 days inside you, so they’re probably hanging around waiting for an egg!)

Also, the surge of LH that your ovulation kit detects happens about 24hrs before the egg is actually released so you’ve still got plenty of time (even after the egg is released there’s still a 12ish hour window when you can conceive).

Do it tonight and in the morning. Good luck.

Great he's come in now n said he's super tired n gone straight to bed . I've still got a chance tomorrow right or have I blew my chance this month? Just cause it seems like if you arnt dtd for Atleast 4-5 days straight over your fertile period then it's not going to happen :(

Soon as I got a faint line on my kit I DTD that day skipped a day and DTD the following day- this worked first month both times! I used cheap strips from Amazon

Proudpeacock · 06/08/2021 23:13

It only needs 1 sperm! It took us 5 years to conceive but I know the exact day as we only dtd once that month.

andpeggy1 · 08/08/2021 11:07

Agreed it only takes one sperm, but if it was that easy surely everyone would get pregnant first time round??? So half dtd yesterday on ovulation day (only some of the stuff was put in the right place -sorry if tmi) and today he's not in the mood as he went on a 5 hour 15 mile hike yesterday so used all his energy in the bloody Peak District! So I guess I'll just have to try again next month
