HCG LEVEL AT 16dpo only 168

Please could anyone tell me if they had low hcg and continued with a healthy pregnancy?!

Went for blood test on Tuesday (16dpo), got my result today-168. Nurse said the only comments were “Abnormal but expected”. How reassuring is that?!! I had blood taken again yesterday (18dpo) but won’t know the results until Monday.

I had a miscarriage at the beginning of July and no period in between that and this new pregnancy so I am unbelievable anxious about everything!

Just wanted some “real life” stories rather than tables of hcg levels.

Your hcg levels are within range for 4 weeks pregnant, the important thing is they raise appropriately - are you being retested?

I think the terminology is unhelpful because it actually means that you have hcg present which is 'abnormal' but expected as you believe you are pregnant. It doesn't mean the hcg levels are abnormal, if you see what I mean. Congratulations, you're pregnant x

Ps, I'm sorry for your loss (I've had many) and I understand that anxiety you must be feeling ❤️ I hope your feel reassured on Monday x

Thank you so much @VenusStarr I wish the nurse had explained that and not just said it was an abnormal result. I had blood taken again yesterday so these are the results the doctor will have on Monday. I’ll be worrying until then!

@BryonyHarley how did you get on today with your 2nd test?

I have low HCG results too but mine are not doubling as they should be so I'm not expecting a good result. I've got to wait until Saturday for my next test results every 2 days have been - 84, 125, 179. So not doubling :-(

I had a test on Tuesday which was 168 and a test on Thursday which was 464. Spoke to the doctor yesterday and she doesn’t need me to do any further tests. I still feel nervous and would have preferred to monitor it a bit longer but the doctor doesn’t seem worried.

Those are good results. The important thing is that they are doubling. Wishing you the best of luck x
