Two week wait

Is anybody entering their two week wait?
I am on cycle day 15 at the moment. App says I should ovulate today. I had sex on cycle day 13 & cycle day 14 , might cover today later but I know chances drop on the day of ovulation anyway.

My question is did you drink during your two week wait? I am meant to be going to Wetherspoons tomorrow for a meal and few gins. Also did you smoke or vape 😬 I vape and I am starting to cut down, I will quit as soon as I get a BFP.

Any advice welcome please x

@louise1997 , I'm in my TWW right now. It's DH birthday this weekend and I will be drinking. I'm out next weekend and I'll be drinking again.

We are tcc#1and I've promised myself that to ensure my sanity I'll be keeping life as normal as possible until we get a BFP.

Good luck to you and your hubby! 🤞🏼✨
I am also trying to conceive our first baby so it's all so new! Yeah I am with you on trying to carry on as normal to keep my sanity lol. When you think about the amount of women to get pregnant without even trying and they drink really heavy and smoke 20 a day lol so I'm sure a couple drinks here and there and vaping isn't going to hurt in the TWW Smile of course as soon as I get my BFP I'll ditch the drinking and vaping completely. Xx

We are TTC and I was out last week just before my BFN but I had the weakest of rosé spritzers and sipped very slowly. I made out for other events and meals going that I'm designated driver as normally DP drives us places so he's enjoyed being able to have a drink or two with meals. I've cut down caffeine and eating healthily until AF came and then this week has been sweet tooth galore ha!

BellatrixK · 06/08/2021 17:38

I’m in exactly the same place! Ovulated yesterday (I think), so entering the TWW now.

I had a chemical pregnancy last month (we weren’t trying then), which made us realise how much we want this. So we tried properly this month.🤞 we all have lucky months.

I am unsure about drinking, but @wannabeamummysobad advice makes sense. I think the more ‘normal’ life is, the less stressful this will be, which is definitely as good thing. I’m at a wedding on the 15th and I’ll definitely be drinking. Got a few events that week, but I’ll be driving for some of them.

I've just entered the TWW too!! Ovulated yesterday according to my strips. I also had a chemical last month (my first ever positive tests in nearly 2 years TTC).

I'm off out for tea tonight and I'll definitely be having a gin! I'm not getting drunk by any means but I fancy one Smile at the start I didn't drink for months - now I'm a bit more relaxed!

charl881 · 06/08/2021 19:24

I’m on CD19 so I’m the TWW but don’t think we DTD at the right time this month so not expecting be pregnant. I would drink even if I thought there might be a chance though. With my son the earliest indicator that I was pregnant was that I had one drink during the TWW and couldn’t stomach any more. Pretty sure I was also very drunk a couple of times around the time of his conception (we are on holiday!) and he is fine.

charl881 · 06/08/2021 19:26

@PickleAF @BellatrixK I also had a chemical last month! Didn’t realise how common they were. Like you @BellatrixK we weren’t really trying though had been talking about it, it made me realise I definitely want to start trying properly now.

louise1997 · 06/08/2021 19:45

@PickleAF Good luck to you hun!! I don't blame you having a gin or two you deserve it by the sounds of things!!
I see a lot of people on here saying that they tried for ages and as soon as they relaxed and went back to "normal" such as drinking etc they fell pregnant ! Xx

@charl881 if you don't mind me asking what exactly is a chemical? Is it where the lines shows but there is actually no baby? Sorry this happened to you I can imagine it's so upsetting and if you're trying then so disheartening! Xx

@louise1997 It’s essentially an early miscarriage. For me I only knew about it because I’m a POAS addict and I had an early positive test, followed by my period a couple of days later. This was all before my period was actually due. It happens not long after implantation and will sometimes happen before a woman even knows she is pregnant as they just assume it’s their normal period. To be honest I even thought the test was probably a false positive but the fact my period then arrived several days early when it’s usually bang on time made me realise it was probably a chemical. It wasn’t actually too upsetting for me as we weren’t actively trying, we’d just started talking about it, so if anything it made me realise that’s what I really wanted. But I can imagine it can be really upsetting if you’ve been trying for a while, which is why the recommendation is to wait until your period is due or late really I guess. Not that I have any intention of sticking to that advice this time around anyway 🙈

louise1997 · 06/08/2021 20:07

@charl881 ohhhh right! thanks for the explanation! yeah I suppose that's the positive you've took from it, realising it's what you really want! Smile
Last month I was testing from 9DPO lol😩 spent like £30 on tests and they were all negative and then my period arrived like clockwork when it was due so this month I haven't even bought ovulation tests (have just been tracking my cycle on an app), and I don't plan on doing a test until my period is late.

I had my implant removed end of June and started ttc straight away, and then my period (my first natural period off contraception in years) was very heavy and painful so im hoping my body is back to normal now Smile xx

@louise1997 that sounds much more sensible! If you do get tempted to test early I’d just use a cheapie. For some reason I never tested early with the cycle where I actually conceived my son as I had no symptoms whatsoever apart from going off booze, so maybe the relaxed mindset is the way to go! Good luck to you xx

Fingers crossed for all of us!! Gin is being enjoyed currently!! GrinWine

Another cycle buddy here! I'm CD 16 today and got my peak OPK yesterday so app says today is OV day! DTD CD9, 11, 14 and 15. Not sure whether to cover tonight too 🙈 this is our first cycle TTC baby #2 🥰

I am definitely not doing anything differently during the TWW. Going on a girly holiday with a friend in a week so will be having a few drinks then. The placenta doesn't form for a few weeks so no alcohol, etc would pass yet anyway if this was our lucky cycle!
